I just don't know if I can go through this all again. It may seem petty, but I'm still pissed off about SR's ending.

Easy solution: Don't take the ending of SR as an ending. That way you still see the current first SRZ as a filler (like said before, Nigakki beginning), with the only difference that one has to wait a month for a new chapter.

And BTW: it's always been like that in SR, that you have your storyline, and Kobayashi-sensei puts in a completely different chapter which takes part in the oldern times of Edo or somewhat. If you can't see that, then IMAO you shouldn't consider yourself a SR fan at all.

^ That's all fine an well, but it does assume that we're gonna get back to SR with business as usual. I doubt that's gonna happen. I'm interested in a story that still focuses on Harima, Eri and Yakumo. Hell, just give me some kinda ending that doesn't look like it was done in half an hour with the author snoozing at his desk.

A little touchy, aren't we? If getting pissed off at the slack ass ending that was hashed together means that I'm not a fan, I guess I'm not. I'm not gonna sleep over it.

Talking i thnk i figured it out

id been thining a lot about the ending of sr on the manga and the appareing of san gakki by chapter 25 instead of the 1 of sangakki, and i think i got what he wants, about sangakki, he put chapter 25 first to can raise the sales of the manga and nex chapt will be the 1, sorta like the marketing of god of war and other animes or games, put a bit of the end first to sell better the product, and about the end of the manga, is a filler, and a very unique one, you see, is impossible for the mangaka to continue school rumbe as the way it was and has a happy ending, if doesnt had the main heroine on spot, tenma is reallly needed to continue the story, harimas cant end with eri nor yakumo cuz simply he hasnt fall in love wiht neither of them yet, just misunderstanding, and the mangaka was forced to end the manga in one chapter, so he did the obious a filler end, so can continue the series later with same name jsut changed a bit, like GANTZ 2nstage, one way to find out its a filler is checking how much really has changed on it, check out that neither tenma, nor anybody of the series has aged at all, not even a bit, secondly, tenmas letter is the first to receive since she decided to study on america, i doubt that she hasnt writted a letter to yakumo in years, also before the filler sarah was already living with yakumo and i really doubt shell live with her for many years, also hasnt aged, so if you chek shortly, most probably, was only the summer break whats time passed, cuz actually none of them were on the school and also harima wasnt going to school either, just working, so he dump his job and went to america on a trip to forget tenma, and then meet everyone there, so most probably, the mangaka is trying to set tenma, and karasuma back to the team on the school rumble z to continue the series, thats why they meet on america, dont know if theyll end sutying there or just get back to japan, has to wait to see, and to make it even better, hes putting a filler chapter on the new series so no one suspects a thing. (i had a degree on marketing hehe)

The only thing that stood out for me about their age didfference was the fact that Mikoto could drive... I'm not sure what the Driving Age is required for a Driving license is in Japan. I'm guessing 18 and since everyne was nearing the end of their 2nd year of high school, they all should be about on average 16-17 years old... (this is under the assumption that the 3rd and final year of Highschool the average 3rd year student is 17-18 years old since I'm unsure how things work in Japan)

Assuming chapter 282-283 was cannon that meant at least 1-2years had passed since chapter 281.

No, ending stands out exactly because it has nothing to do with sudden plot twists. Its like having a main character of psychological novella die in a sudden car accident because author ran our of ideas/was pressured by publisher to finish novel faster and try to back it up with crap like "its was such a great original idea to show the influence of sudden turns of fate on human's lives".

Last line is way too childish to be commented on at all.

True, they do not look that much older to me as well.... Although it might be just that KJ was in a hurry to finish this chapter fast so he did not have time to model their adult look. Or not.

Some of you guys need to quit being so pessimistic about 283's apparent "end" to the story.

It seems pretty obvious to me that "School Rumble Z" will comprise the events that took place during 283's time-skip (and surely extend beyond that). In fact, I'd bet ridiculously large amounts of money on it.

    So relax.

The manga is popular, and so is the anime (two full seasons and a third in post-production and soon to begin airing). I rather doubt SR's creators are being forced to rush anything. By all indications, School Rumble is being enthusiastically milked for all it can possibly produce right now.

    Oh and btw...

To the people concerned about SRZ's first chapter being in a monthly maganzine, I expect that's only a one-time deal, a promotional to mark School Rumble Z's beginning. If you note the wording of the statement on the subject in 283, it's being termed a "special". Ultimately, SRZ will be weekly same as always, I'm sure.
