They're not even really the same archetype though. Yakumo is a Yamato Nadeshiko, and I'm not sure what Rei's official archetype name is but she really doesn't fit the Yamato Nadeshiko bit(from what I've watched of NGE). Just because two characters are introverted doesn't make them the same archetype.Mannerisms are a very superficial way of defining character archetypes.

I guess I can't do anything but disagree then. I'll just say your parameters for defining who fits into what archetype are far, far too vague IMO and leave it at that.

Hmmmmmm... point taken..... but to equate Yauko to Rei is still a bit off....... Though I have to admit that until the recent chapters did she show any emotions at all other than what you have mentioned..... But don't you think it's more appropriate to categorize Yakumo to a different 'introvert person' category than Rei's category???? Correct me again if I'm wrong again......

ow there is a contest about comparing Yakumo and another anime characters. (^_^) I agree that to some extent there is similarities between Yakumo and Ayanami Rei of Evangelion. Oh By the way, I am surprised by the fact that Nakamura has an older brother. hahahahah and they both wearing eye patch. Long Live Nakamura! And also I have this feeling in my mind since this comparison between yakumo and eri to other anime characters begins. Sometimes I notice that Hanai looks like Nobita from Doraemon. hahaah. it is just me?

Ever since Eri shot Flags down the series have been going down hill. Let's hope will give KJ a chance to start over.

I bet Onigiri fans would disagree with you about that. While we've been lacking in Flag interaction there Yakumo has seen some development along her feelings for Harima....But being a Flag fan, I would agree...School Rumble hasn't held the same appeal for me it once did. I'm hoping we'll see some more Flag soon. I'm enjoying the manga but I would be enjoying it much more if there was Flag interaction. Not only is it my favorite coupling, it also brings about some the funniest situations.

well, 1 years is a long year in the third years of school. Feeling can change ,usually. I hope Kj introduce new girl that is made for Harima in the third year as Harima true partner.~ jeng jeng jeng~

Seriously though, I don't see how you can claim the series has been going downhill with Flag being sidelined. You might enjoy it less on a personal level, but unless you WANT SR to stay an endless waltz of misunderstandings forever I don't see how you can claim it is going downhill. Personally, I likes me some actual development.

The series is full of resets, flag got so far and then suddenly back to zero. Yakumo is no closer to Harima than when they started to do manga together. Hanai and that other girl progressed a bit and then quickly got reset. Karasuma finally showed his true side and then he went off to America to die.

In the big picture no one got anywhere, KJ is just milking it.
