Just to throw my 2 cents out there, after rereading a good portion of the Manga(I started rereading it just to pass time) and getting through said chapter with Eri's dad, it's actually fairly easy argue that he's a very caring father.

For one, Eri's mom didn't come with to Japan, she stayed behind. This tells me that her father wants her near him instead of leaving her behind with her mother. Another thing is he comes to her when he learns he can't stay for dinner. He doesn't just take off and leave Nakamura to tell her. He also offers her a ride back home, possibly(because we don't know for sure) to have some last minute time with his daughter.

A point well taken i can see your point Mini and the reasoning is something easy to grasp. I don't totally agree but it gives me a new angel to view it from.

At swamp Repress can also mean to physically restrain or dominate in a physical or mental way. As to say something is quelled, but yes it does imply a self induced act. So yes I guess I used the wrong word but it did get the idea across but if it makes you feel better imagine i said Oppressed or any of a dozen other words that get my general meaning across.

As to the poll i searched and I can't find it but it doesn't matter. Lets just drop it I enjoy speculating from what i gleaned while reading. It isn't fun to grind back and forth over the ideas we have set in mind or over grammar and definitions. So i apologize and say agree to disagree. =)
