Chapter 257 Discussion Thread

As this is the last of translated chapters, here's athread to discuss it. Please, no spoilers from #58 RAW, some (like me) have not seen it yet. And no Karasuma-related discussion, since there is a separated thread for it. So this is basically about Yakumo and Onigiri.

I've seen some predicting development for Onigiri. But for me it doesn't seem to be this clear - Yakumo is clinging to Harima because he is the last island of stability in her world - Karasuma is dying which leads to Tenma's hopes crushing - which means that a big part of Yakumo's life is going to hell as well. So she is desperately searching for at least some stability - and she finds it in Harima, who still (in her eyes, at least) is trying to do what he always does. And thus provides the necessary calmness to her. Have I missed something important?

What you're saying is right. Harima probably the only one who can save the situation. But like other previous situation Harima tends to take advantage of the absent of Karasuma. For some reason I don't Harima will take advantage this time. With Oudou crushed (look like it is crushed), Harima probably will help Yakumo, which give Onigiri an edge over other Harima's faction. It also proven Harima has a lot of trust in Yakumo and vice versa. That probably the reason Harima is the first person Yakumo seek when she have problem.

There is one point missing - seems Harima really stopped thinking about Tenma now. If Yakumo won't tell anything about Karasuma but will just ask Harima to stay with her, I see some Onigiri development - if she says about Karasuma, it will only trouble Harima now.

Seeking person when you have problems =/= loving this person. And yeah, Harima killed Oudou.

Right now Harima is about to give up on Tenma. But in Yakumo's eye it is not like it at all. She thinks that he still wishes for Tenma to be with him.

Onigiri development from Harima's side seems hardly possible - he is troubled with Tenma now - it was a hard decision to give up on her after all and can't just asy "ah watever" and go hunt for another girl immideately.

Yakumo, on the other hand, is really concerned about her sister right now: Karasuma's confession made her feel really depressed. She is not the type of girl to forget about her sister who worries her so much and go after Harima just because they are alone. She probably wants to be with him for the reasons I already stated.

Girls are quite complicated things - I learnt that they say one thing and do another (some guys interpret that too much ending up with rape but that other topic).

The world is falling appart, everything that was there isn't there - in Yakumo realization of what is happening, she wants for Harima-sempai to stay with her, to comfort her and that at least one thing won't change..or change for better. That at least her heart and his heart will not be hurt any more..

^ Well, of course, it is a possibility. Generally. But it's Yakumo we are talking about. I'm not sure if this generalisation works with her or not.

The way I see it, Harima is willing to give up Tenma as long as she is happy. To make her happy is to let her be with Karasuma, Harima probably thinking this way now. Yakumo probably thinking the same way, she would at least try to make karasuma confess to Tenma before he go. This would make Harima a free person for any other girl.

^ Thats true, but Onigiri is not favoured in this case - here goes all the discussion about who has more influence on Harima, Eri or Yakumo.

I wonder what was Eri thinking when sending Harima with Tenma. Maybe she thought of exactly the same plan - give Harima a chance to confess so that he'll learn the truth about Tenma's feelings and become available for other girls?
