In Tenma's case, she likes someone that isn't near-identical to her. Harima likes Tenma, though, so they're not quite like Karasuma and Akira seem to be (attracted to people different from themselves). Yakumo clearly has some daddy issues in Chapter 174, so I am serious when I say they might be connected to her relationship with Harima considering she made a connection between her father and Harima, herself. I've never suggested they might be related, though.

yeah I see your point. He never did think he's similar to her in any way. He even sometimes mentally insults her. (he thinks she's naturally dumb, bad at cooking, etc.) but he never once thought that his like that too.

well I'm an Onigiri so I might be bias about it but Yakumo liking Harima because he reminds her of her father isn't the whole reason she liked him. She did start noticing Harima after the whole father-thing but it develop more after she started interacting with him and when she starts learning how to fall in love and stuff.

Are you sure her daddy issues = Electra complex? She may just miss her father, thats all.

BTW, this whole Yakumo-character discussion which we just started is a material for a new thread. If you are planning to develop this into some bigger discussion, maybe we should request a split?

I'm being pretty vague when I say Yakumo's interest with Harima is connected with her father. I didn't say that means she likes him due to an Electra Complex, although I think it could be possible.

OK then. I personally think that Yakumo having EC would be too much. Although....well, depending on how it is brought up it may be interesting too.

Well, I think it would only be brought up to completely eliminate Onigiri as a possible faction, although there are some interesting developments that could stem from Yakumo comparing Harima to her father.

Ahhh, curse my lack of knowing english!!!!! Sorry, i don't understand well what you are saying here. You mean "some interesting developments that would keep Yakumo from comparing Harima to her father" or "some interesting developments that would make Yakumo compare Harima to her father"?

More like Yakumo would realize that any feelings she has for Harima are false, as a result of the comparison. I don't really think this would be necessary, though, since Yakumo seems content enough with herself in Chapter 217.

Thanks. I would like to see one of this developments in the story, actually.

Yakumo's 'father' thing for Harima aside, wouldn't you think that she sticks around him only because she thinks that he is a good match with her sister Tenma? I don't know whether anyone has said this but her attachment to Harima could stem from a common love for Tenma (as Yakumo is clearly aware of). She seeks to give him some of the best chances to be around Tenma and tried to make him comfortable around Tenma (despite Harima's knack of getting 'burnt' around Tenma, i.e. 'shrimp' chapter.) while defending it against competitors ('Ojou'). Well her giving up turned out somewhat fortunate as her 'rival' suffered a major blow the same time she surrenders.

Oh shoot, off topic again, back to Akira and Karasuma please!!!
