Thread: Asou and Mikoto... c194 revisited

Hey all I was just rereading the whole SR series from the start, and I just got to chapter 194, where Tenma and the gang try and figure out why Asou dumped Mikoto.

At the end, Asou is talking to Suga and stated that he "loved her, but..."

Earlier in the chapter Eri is looking through the pictures on Mikoto's phone, and gets to a picture of the night where Asou went to the party at Hanai's place. You can see Asou in the background but not his face, while Hanai and Mikoto are fooling around in the foreground.

I was just wondering, did Asou dump Mikoto because he realized that Hanai is a better match for her?

More or less..yes.

Anyway Mikoto didn't seem too upset about it, but then again she's not the type to show it.

Yeah, at that party Mikoto's sempai that she had liked came back and she was talking to him in a lively fashion. Asou noticed this, as did Hanai, who told him that "that's how it's going to be," and asked him if he could live with it.

Asou asked to spar later on, but I'm not sure that has to do with the eventual breakup...

hey i'm a little confused as well. did Asou-kun just gave up on Mikoto just because he's a little insecure with Hanai being Mikoto's childhood friend? i think Mikoto was upset but she's having trouble sorting out her feelings. she doesn't even know how it is to have a relationship.

^ He is not just a little unsecure - he is absolutely sure that Mikoto loves Hanai and that he has no chances of winning her heart no matter what he does. So by dumping her he gives her chance to realise her true feelings.
