Who is Shawn? A local devil from Kyoto arc, who acts from the shadows trying to conquer 2-C girls and fails in several cases, for example Eri's. And who also is supposed to be Eri's fiance.
I fail to see how he can influence plot development now or later. Please tell me in case I'm missing something.
I don't know. I see no reason to bring him up until Kobayashi brings him back into the story, if he does.
Usually when a character is dramatically revealed at the end of a story arc (or revealed to be more than he seemed), it is a strong sign that the character will return.
He is Eri's fiancee and the matter was still not solved - so I think it's possible for him to appear again. At least, I believe so - why would KJ create such important character without having him any significant appearances in the plot.
It isn't actually confirmed that Shawn is the fiancé. Anyways, I don't see why he'd come back, fiancé or not, unless he was used in a climax for a Flag ending.Quote:

Well, regarding Shawn. Most of us think of him as Eri's fiancee. So even if Shawn is not Eri's fiancee, there is one to become her fiancee. The fact that Eri is engaged will provide future story development IMHO. If Flag really succeded than Harima still have to face Eri's fiancee. Even if Flag didn't succeded, there is still some chances the story progressed involving her fiancee....
Well, people tends to bring Shawn up because he has potential to become one of antagonist in the story. Karasuma, well i missed him to. But we already knew at least most of it, what is Karasuma's role in this story....

Even if he really was Eri's fiancee, it doesn't matter now since the problem is solved. Her parents gave up, it's over.
And how can he become antagonist? Eri doesn't love him so he can't be Harima's rival (in case Harima is falling for Eri - Flag ending)?
I don't think they've given up yet. maybe it got delayed but they never said that they plan on breaking it off. Eri's mother might be on Eri's side but we never heard Eri's father say anything yet. and we all know how influential Eri's father to Eri is.Quote:
