Someone is Eri's fiancee and I can't see any other candidates - so It's safe to say that Shawn is most likely the fiancee. One thing we know for sure - Max was working for the guy who is Eri fiancee, so she has one.

It was like that before, but we don't know how it will turn out now after she learned the "way of strength" from Harima. She is very likely to be able to oppose her father.

I don't recall the number of chapter from Kyoto arc where it is stated that Eri's fiancee thing is stil not over. Do you mind posting its' number?

I don't recall the chapter saying it's over. Eri just stated that she wants to be with her friends a little longer, which surely says that Eri isn't ready for marriage yet. But that doesn't mean she dumped the fiancee - she postponed the marriage, the fiancee is still there and patiently waiting (if it's Shawn, I don't see him rushing this marriage stuff either, he would like to play a little longer with other girls ).
Well, but if they said she has a fiancee in Kyoto (chapter 179) then the hadn't ended.

Thanks. My point is that the one who ended it is Eri - even if not officially. She do not seem to think about it as a possible continuation of her life - when talking to Akira about her future actions, she states being with her friends as an alternative to being with Harima - she says nothing about fiancee thing. For her it is over.

At least for her - we don't know how it will be in the future. That's why I don't think Shawn reappearance is impossible.
Although Shawn reappearance would have meaning if
a) Eri stopped to care about Harima
b) Her father would state an ultimatum which Eri can't refuse
c) Shawn family would somehow blackmail Eri's family (impossible, since this is love-comedy and not a drama )

Of course we don't know future. Even Tennojou (who has more screen time then Shawn ) can steal Tenma's heart.

a) Not very likely to happen....
b) Eri can marry Harima to counter any attacks.

a)If I were Eri, I would stop caring about him a long time ago - and since she knows now that he likes different girl and this girl is her precious friend, she might as well give up (or pretend she gave up).

a) Well, you are not Eri...I hope... Besides, Takano is telling her not to give up and have both, freind and guy. And why would she give up knowing that Harima loves her friend? It's not like Tenma loves him to, so Eri si not hurting anyone by taking Harima.

b) If the case arrives, she'll prefer Harima to Shawn. I'm sure.

1) she would give up because she doesn't want to be a back-up. Even if Tenma doesn't love him, he loves her. She lost - she can't blame Tenma for this. The only thing she could do is to change Harima opinion about Tenma and make him fall in love in her - but it doesn't seem she wants to go on with it (at least from latest chapter, let's see what future gives).

2) That's the point. Shawn appearance would just help Flag.

1) She is proud but not stupid. Besides, in chapter 215 she says that she is not giving up.

2) How? She alraedy prefers Harima to anyone, no need to develop her feelings. Harima is the one, whose feelings need to be developed, but how will Shawn do that?
