Linking verb...? *isn't a very good English student in that sense. ^^;;* Men can use "da", and so according to Wiki, "dasu" is sort of a more polite form in some ways of speaking - not COMMONLY and it's not SUPPOSED to be, but...

DAS is dasu written in english. (remember when they use Katakana they sometimes take out the "u") and yes most japanese that I've met has a hard time with english.

nah you don't have to worry about language superiority here. I know a little bit of jap but thats it. I can't even speak it or read it. I'm even below kindergarten level. and english.... let's just say literature isn't my strong point.

Technically, German is my second language... I just forgot it all years ago. ^_^

Das does sound German, so maybe it's just some kind of random thing he says to be more like a foreigner. He kind of looks like one, in that pic...

...But I could get the same bear as Borat (anyone seen a movie ? He actually speaks Polish sometimes, not Kazakhstan - but American's doesn't see a difference - for Polish people it's just laughable )
