Thread: What does attract girls in Harima?

The topic of conversation below is: what attracts Eri in Harima? This is what we have posted so far. But i wanted to make the topic wider so now it is: What does attract girls in Harima? Not only Eri, but Yakumo and Tae as well. Join us!

Kolox: I was thinking about the reason why Tenma is less popular than Harima.. and it;s propably only one thing :She is too obsessed with Karasuma, so she doesn't notice anything, and only guys who are interested in her are Harima, Nara and Tennonji (but Nara would propably be fine with ANY girl and Tennonji is like... no personality at all).Harima have Eri, Yakumo, Tae - most charismatic girls in manga. And he was several times involved with Mikoto, Ichijou amd Itoko.
Because if we compare both of them (Harima and Tenma) :
-both are super stupid, in Tenma way of being stupid is quite cute.
-both are in love over their heels
-both are dopes who doesn't understand other people feelings
-both are characteristic abilieties (Harima : sporty,drawning manga, good at eating spicy food, Tenma : Skiing, moving her hairs when she is happy or depressed, bending spoons with power of will, making things out of clay and she is good at drawning too <remember the picture of Karasuma she made>)
-both like "The three who were slashed" and are devoted to it-both her sister/cousin who takes care of them
...basically, they are so compatible, that is impossible to make them a couple (If it was me, I wouldn't been able to spend my life with a person who is a copy of me and agrees with everything I do")

If we would try to compare Harima to two other girls we would find out, that they are quite different: in Yakumo's case it's obvious, while speaking of Eri it can be said that their characters have a very important similarity: they both got wild temper that complicates their interactions with people. But they got complitely different way to solve this problem: while Eri pretends to be all cute and shining Harima made a deliquent of himself. And in both case their behaviour is quite uncomfortable for them: Harima himself several times said phrases like: "Oh yeah, i'm a deliquent' i can't go with them" while being exited about even a possibility of such trip, thus it is obvious that he ffeels uncomfortsable at least somethimes; as for Eri, we just need to remember her sad expression from the chapter where she was invited at Mikoto's house for the first time. This example illustrates the main differemce between them: Eri is weak, Harima is strong. The way Eri solves her problem is the easiest, Harima's - the most stupid but also the hardest. He tryes to deal with everything with his own fists (like he said in that temple) while Eri - with smile. This is to my mind the main difference.

Kolox: You made a good point Reinard-kun, we can also see one of the reasons Eri is so attracted to Harima. Trying to guess Eri thoughts, maybe something like this :
"I want to be as strong as him"
"I don't want to pretend anymore...when I am with him, I don't feel I need to pretend.. why ??"
"His attitude towards me, it's different than other guys, he doesn't see me as only a girl with a cute body... "
"Why isn't he never tried anything to do with me, am I unattractive??.. I think I will try harder so he will notice me"
"His feelings toward me, are different from other guys, when he confessed to me that time.. It was like he was saying the truth.."
"Why is he avoiding me ?? What should I do to get him know better ??"...
or maybe it's a lot simpler thought :"Hige you IDIOT !!"


Reinard-fox: So we both think that attracts Eri in Harima is his "power" and will.
Is there anything else? Probably if we would try to observe those moments which most likely influensed Eri and made her fall in love with Harima, we would see, that those Harima actions all came from his principle not to lose to anything and keep on going no matter what - his "power". This "nude fighter" incident, his behaviour at sports festival, pull game, his confession, "forest saint" incident and others - all. I can't find any other thing that makes Harima that attrractive to Eri. Do you know them?

Let's compare them with magnet.
_ Tenma's just the same at him ( mean same pole ) Two same magnetic pole can't stick to each other, but even push out each other --> That why Harima can't get close to her.
_ Eri's Harima opponent. ( Harima strong, Eri weak, ... same at Kolox-san post)Mean that they are two different pole --> they stick each other each time they're close --> that why Harima can't escape Eri.

well im just wan to say..
eri didnt like harima from the beginning instead she hate him..
but... i'll call it a fate..
coz harima and eri always met in coincidence situation..
like they become the class represantive, going together to break eri's engagement, and about harima tolld his favorite girl to eri,about the pigtail..and the most immpressive for me is the love charm scene.
so actually eri doesnt want to know about harima and she didnt love him after all.. but she slowly change her mind after each scene.. and she started to love him. but she couldn't change her manner to harima, coz she is thicheaded.

so i think it's a fate created by KJ for Harima and Eri..

Speaking of magnet Yakumo fits in this comparison too. And Tae. But he do love Tenma, not those three. Does that mean that the magnet law don't work if we speak about Harima? I mean he fall in love with a girl who is complitely similar to him, and not to those who are different. And he doesn't even look at their side. Why? A fate? I doubt, there must be some reason.

N unfortunately Eri see Kenji in Naked Mode.

I believe and I want to believe it's something deeper than that (and remember he already confessed to Eri that time and there was this umbrella situation already - two other powerful factors for Eri's love)

Eri : Enemy ?? At the beggining he was NOTHING to her, something like another trash guy, her personlity changed greatly since that time and so her feelings toward Harima. She is a person with abilities a character features which she lacks.

Yakumo : Yep, and whats more, the only person who isn't obssesed about her (she can't read his mind because he isn't in love with her, something new for Yakumo - because she can't read like 99% minds of guys she met )

Tae : That's true, to add - both of them were at loss that time, she felt they had something in common... and maybe she likes high school boys

Addition:
Yakumo: they (Harima and Yakumo) shares the secret. Something that belongs only to them. I think it can be important too.

Tae: he is the one who she has protected. Who needs her help. That can play some role .
