I was reading Ranma so I could read about Ryouga again (and Mousse was great ), that guy was the best.... actually, If it's about being hopeless about love, Ryouga and Harima are simmiliar.

lol yeah. But Ryouga is totally frustrated by his failuar, when Harima is still full of fughting spirit (it could be coz he is too stupid to realize that he failed too)

Hmmm, speak about it, now i think that Ryouga is very similar to Harima. Idiot, fall in love to the main heroine to crazy, pretty strong, good guy ... ( I like him alot [& mousse too], but I hate Ranma)

Because Ranma is sometimes really unrealistic character, true : He needs to overcome some stupid things and mostly he looses his face doing it, but almost every time he ends up to be victorious in ANYTHING (hence the name of the school his family is successor "Anything Goes School of Martial Arts"). The only thing he never succeded in was taking that curse out of him and in about 90 % of manga we start to believe he actually doesn't care about the curse.... or at least not so much like Ryouga or Mousse.

.... and that's supposed to be about SR, so I will try to get on topic : Trying to compare SR and Ranma is hard, not only because of some difference of genre (fighting-love-comedy and pure love-comedy) but also because those two mangas have completly diffrent view for love : In Ranma 1/2 love was something... granted, she was in love in him and she will be forever and ever, in SR love is showed as something really complicated... and funny In SR all character have diffrent kind of 'love' which has a serious part and 'hilarious' part.

My post ended up as a essay or something

Another diff. from Ranma & SR :
In Ranma, we know from the beginning that Ranma will end up with Acane.
In SR, until now we still not know that who Harima will end up with.

And SR is not harem. We are not sure if Yakumo loves Harima or not after all.

Kolox-kun(?), continue like this please (as an essey i mean). It is interesting and probably makes SR more than an ordinary manga, but a work of art (such things deseves making esseys about them).

Coming from the Arab tradition, the harîm حريم (compare haram) it's like... a man paradise. I place where lots of girls are living only to serve (mostly sexually) for one man. The origin of this word meant "no man place", so it was place where wives of one guy (polygynous marriage) lives.

yea and in anime Harem basically means all the girls or 99% of the girls in the anime/manga fall in love with the main character (sometimes for no clear reason)
