This is rasism? You'd better say it is against reach people. Bolshivism-like part. Remember they all were reach and this is what stands out in them not that they are from England.

Man it's when things are solved... but at the begging they say things like: You changed Half-Japanese or ...Jap.
All those mean things are coming from mouthes of English people not japanese, isn't it the way around?
Reinard I don't need them to start saying that they are racists or making in manga some extreme scenes to understand what were author thinking... I think you read just the things above and not trying to understand deeper meaning.
The list of my best anime:
Hunter x Hunter, One piece, Get Backers, Full metal Alchemist, Dragon Ball, Hajime no Ippo, Naruto, Yu Yu Hakusho, Bleach, Trigun, Fruits basket, Berserk, Utawarerumono
Then why the main female protagonist is halfy that author should hate?
It looks like you just read things you want to read not what KJ is writing.
No,No,No, I'am from japan, we are not racist's. Pokemon-Nite.
wow he got banned fast?
anyway, the only racism i saw in SR in those chapters were in the form of racist remarks like "jap" from one of the english kids (the short ugly one? i forgot) and the halfling remarks from the big tough dude towards Eri
then again in a country that has been very resentful of foreign influence you gotta expect some people to be wary of foreigners in their country ... its more complicated than "theyre all racists!" thats a gross generalization
ive never been to japan, and i wont say i know anything for sure, but if i were to put a name on it i would say its Xenophobia that some suffer of in japan
and though it may seem racism in the US is on a low profile i can assure you it isnt, though for the most part people get along fine its not uncommon to run into racism anytime in many forms
Edit: besides once people get to know one another and get past the cultural/language barriers they find out that everyone isnt so different afterall, alot of people are shrouded in ignorance and disillusioned by stereotypes

Ok ok. I think it is only misundertanding.
From movies, mangas, etc etc it is often that foreigners' image are bad-ass, cruel and usually not a protagonist. Not all of them but usually.
To tell u the truth, i am chinese and it is really weird for every US movies i have watched (some are cartoons), chinese people are represented as mafias, sadist and the main hero fights and kills them all. Although some of the movies show good teamwork between Asia-people and US.
In japanese or hongkong movies, Foreigners are usually shown as bad-ass figures and antagonist characters. But i guess it is only a nature of film making or manga.
In School Rumble, a lot of foreigners are arrogant and loves to play along with Japan girls. But the fact, that is true Asia people love to see a blond, blue-eyes and tall foreigner. And even some girls are willingly to give their body so easily. Perhaps this creates image of foreigner being bad.
IMO, racist is everywhere. Not only in japan. For example: black man, chinese-mafia, arab-terrorist, etc etc etc. This whole images were caused by media, and not their race' fault. Dont u agree with me ?
Sorry with bad english, i hope u understand.
hahahaha
Yeah guys.... thx alot. You have eased my irritation with pretty solid answers.
It was just getting to me (SR just triggered it) why they have to make this nationalitic differents so clear...
Maybe japanese are more nationaly ignorant than other nations, but it cann't be helped, they were isolated from outside world for centures.

My brother went on a student exchange program to Japan. Didn't hear anything about them being racist. Although he did mention that the language barrier did initially isolate him from the others. However, once he learned enough jap to have a basic conversation, they turned out to be nice people.
I think others might percieve a lack of understanding due to language barriers/ cultural differences as racism, but it's really nothing of the sort.
Even if they were racist, at least they aren't declaring jihad on foreigners and kidnapping/executing them. Right? Right?
Exectly. But during World War II they executed something like 30000 people in Nankin (China) in a week. It was long ago though.
I just wanted to say that every nation has something like that in it's history. Drayvs was absolutely right about it. Everything depends on person.
every nation has skeletons in their closet, the US is no different no matter how "righteous" the politicians want to make the US seem... (slavery, genocide towards native americans, witch burnings, civil rights riots in the 60's, Vietnam, etc. etc. etc.) Manifest Destiny my ass
student exchange program eh? lol i cant imagine doing something like that without knowing how to converse in the language of the country your being sent to, it would be so hard to get by just smiling and nodding like an idiot when people talk to you >_>
