Right, so instead, you got the impression that she's clueless? I figured Yakumo to be one of the smartest School Rumble cast members - at the least, much less oblivious than her older sister.

Regardless of whether or not she wanted to be the third wheel, the entire situation was revolving around her (as Iori) in the first place. Common sense and basic logic would dictate that Harima would obviously go after her instead of visit with Eri. She also knows that Harima loves animals (as she, herself, does), and he made it perfectly clear that he wasn't going to leave the cat alone.

She knew perfectly well the consequences of her actions.

She was selfish and she was right being selfish at that moment and why you don't like that she was selfish at that moment? It was the moment to be selfish after all.

Girls in love (same goes for boys) should be selfish. Thats the way of ninja!*

Actually, I can go as far to say that Yakumo is clueless to the subject of love, remember that she had bad experiences with boys/men (the mind reading thing). In the recent chapters, to my opinion, she's trying to figure out what those feelings she's experiencing are (it may be love or not).

After reading both of your opinions, one could take it that way too. But Yakumo's line were mostly "..." which doesn't provide any solid proof for her case (that is School Rumble for you).

I don't remember saying that I didn't like Yakumo because of selfishness, we have different perception on what happen in the chapter. That's all...

Clueless to the subject of love? That does not at all contradict my response. Furthermore, there was no opinion therein, either.

Fact: It is within common sense that the entire situation revolved around Harima returning Yakumo (as Iori) to the Tsukamoto household.

Fact: It is easily within logic that Harima would choose the cat over Eri in such a manner as he had already dropped off said girl - not counting the fact that his primary objective was to return the cat in the first place.

Conclusion: Yakumo is not clueless.

Clueless to love? Sure - many people are anyway (especially in School Rumble).

Regardless to feelings as deep as love, it is undeniable that Yakumo's highest male preference is and has been Harima, which only further reinstates chinsee's first message regarding bonus chapter forty-three.

The difference between our perceptions about Yakumo being selfish in said chapter is that my stating of it being so is not an opinion.

I have just recognized that Yakumo's voice in anime belongs to seiyu Mamiko Noto. My question is a bit strange but still: have anyone watched "Monster"? If yes then tell me please if the voice of Anna Liebert (Nina Fortner) sounds the same way as Yakumo's voice. The thing is both of them are the work of Mamiko Noto. I still haven't watched anime so i'm very curious. If yes then it's not the voice i've been imagining. Not voice of innocent girl that is. But it it deep as going from the depth of the soul so it must suit Yakumo's personality perfectly.

lol hardcore Yakumo fans would mob you for tarnishing her angelic image :P but then again they secretly wish she would be naughty towards them in that fashion so theyre hypocrites ahahaha
