Thread: The ultimate Harima-Pairing Poll

There is finally a sub-forum about SR .... i was waiting for this since the first time i arrived at Stoptazmo.

Now on to the most classic of the threads in SR related forums: the battle of the faction for Harima.

Yes there are several pairings for Harima. Some are serious and some are just meant to be a joke of the fans. Some factions have a huge support and other factions just happen to have a couple of supporters.

Now on to the technical terminology.

Flag Faction (sometimes called Jersey faction)
Harima + Eri

Oodou Faction (aka "correct path)
Harima + Tenma

Onigiri Faction (sometimes called in english "riceball" faction)
Harima + Yakumo

Kid Meal Faction
Harima + Eri + Yakumo

Monkey Faction
Harima + Eri + Yakumo + Tenma + every girl available

Pencil Faction
Harima + Mikoto

Mission Impossible Faction
Harima + Akira

Marker Faction
Harima + Anegasaki-sensei

Cousin Faction
Harima + Itoko

I like the onigiri faction, but the kid meal sounds better, hehe

I'm ashame to particate in this...mainly cause I've never care for those personXperson pairing in anyother anime...

Onigiri? I didn't really picture the harima, yakumo thing when i first saw it.
Iori/kitty faction sounds more obvious to me, or at least something to do with animals or manga. Ah well, I suppose onigiri works ok.

Flag is a fairly clear choice, here. The majority of the story and humor of School Rumble is centred around the couple, after all. All the rival factions are more one shot issues - they show up at different points in the series, but fade out as the series progresses.

Kid's Meal is actually for fans who are both Flag and Onigiri supporters. It seems instead to be described as a varient of the Monkey Faction.

Is it really so clear ?? The fact Eri has feelings for Harima is obvious, but it's not the same for Harima (for him 'Ojou, you always will be an Ojou'). And I think the number of encounters Harima x Yakumo and Harima x Eri are the same. Eri and Yakumo are both equal know, and they are still losing with Tenma ;p

I think Monkey Faction it's a bit ... overdoing . Probably it's just an answer for creating 'Kid's meal' to make even more impossible scenario ;p

It is fairly clear, actually. Yakumo is only in the picture temporarily. If you look back, she's actually one on a growing list of opponents that Eri has had to face in the past. First, there was Mikoto, then Tae, and then Yakumo. Each encounter is very similar to the previous ones - Eri is forced to fight a battle that she feels she can't win and gives up, only to have to overcome her character weaknesses and come to terms with her growing feelings for Harima. Compare the Cultural Festival Play to the Nurse's Office scene during the Sports Festival to the fight with the fireworks festival with Mikoto. They're all the same, in essence. You're partially right, though - the final hurdle is Tenma.

Although Harima has been focused mainly on Tenma throughout the series, there have been some gradual changes that have been taking place. The biggest one is the omiai arc at around ch.149-154, which, unfortunately, hasn't been posted here, yet. There's also a few symbolic hints throughout the series as well - the picture that Harima takes away to sea of his "dream girl", for example, is a good example.

Well, originally Monkey was supposed to be the threesome faction. The name Kids' Meal comes from the fact that classic Japanese kids' meals are riceballs that have a small flag stuck in them. So, a Kids' Meal faction supporter is really someone who can't decide between Flag and Onigiri - a fence sitter. The faction has nothing to do with having multiple partners.
