Eri <3 i love tsundere chars =)
1. Eri (Of coz ^_^)
I can't understand what everybody see in Eri. When I see her, I think about her as only a copy character of Asuka from N.G Evangelion...
lol, 2 tru!!! But now she is coupled with a strong, masculine male lead rather than a whiney, vulnerable weakling and that makes some difference.Originally Posted by Kolox

And by that same reasoning, you could call Yakumo a Rei-clone, right down to her moe appeal, unassertiveness, and red eyes. I think Yakumo has far more in common with Rei than Eri does with Asuka.Originally Posted by Kolox
Since Asuka is arguably a tsundere, you're bound to see some similarities on a superficial level. Eri stands out because she has a lot of personality depth to her - she's a very complex character.
Besides, you can't call every feisty girl in anime an Asuka clone.
HAHAHA, ROTFL !! Yeah, you're right . But both those guys are shy and aren't really interested in Eri/Asuka (there are sometimies similiar ) . Shinji prefered calm girls (Rei).Originally Posted by Weimario-kun

Both have a fake personality (cute and nice girl) and their true personality (agressive girl, kind of violont). Both have problems with parents (Well, Asuka problem is more complicated than Eri's..). Both have lot of pride and are full of rivalty spirit. And both are somehow attracted to main character.Originally Posted by Swampstorm
But what I really mean si that I just feel deja vu while I see Eri. And because of that I just can't make myself to like her...kinda complicated thing ;p
Harima isn't shy at all. Furthermore, Harima doesn't have a preference for shy girls - Tenma is his dream girl, after all. No signs of shyness there.Originally Posted by Kolox
Besides, if you think back, we already know of three traits that he looks for:
1. Doesn't have to be a good cook.
2. Doesn't know how to swim.
3. Has hair tied to both sides of her head.
When you really look at it, Tenma and Eri share a lot of the qualities that Harima finds attractive. That's part of the twist in the story - Harima is dead set on Tenma, and yet finds himself inexorably drawn towards the girl that he initially resented - Eri.
There is one similarity between the couples that you mentioned, though - in a way, Harima and Yakumo are like brother and sister, similar to Shinji and Rei. Harima does call Yakumo Imouto-san (Little Sister), after all. Perhaps that's why neither Harima x Yakumo nor Shinji x Rei ever develops into romance.
That's not a very good comparison. There are plenty of girls in anime who have the same general traits, but that doesn't make them the same, by any means. Should we assume that Yakumo lacks any semblance of a personality, simply because she's very similar to Rei?Originally Posted by Kolox
Your comparison is more of a first impressions type of thing. If you take the time to understand Eri's character, she turns out to be quite different from the image that she initially presents. Eri's real personality isn't violent and selfish - that's what we are initially led to believe. In reality, she's one of the most caring and kindhearted characters in the series, if not the most. Her interactions with Akira in S2 Ep.4 and Tenma in S1 Ep.5 are really good examples of this. Note that in both cases, she doesn't flaunt her good deed - she actually tries to hide it and keep it low key. For that matter, Eri's many interactions with Harima show that she's more than willing to swallow her pride for his sake. She doesn't force her feelings on Harima, either - she hides her feelings unless he seems to reciprocate. That's a far cry from Harima and his sabotage attempts on Tenma's relationship with Karasuma - by comparison, Eri is much more selfless.
Eri doesn't really have any family troubles, either. Both of her parents get along well with her. Her mother is especially supportive of her. Eri's main problem is in her isolation - which is an obstacle that Harima helps her overcome. That's also part of the reason why Sagano and Yuuki tell Eri that she makes the perfect couple with Harima in S2 Ep.4 - they both find a means of expressing themselves naturally that they are unable to do when with others.
Incidently, after about Ep.10 S1, Eri is at least as much of a main character as Harima, given the sheer amount of time that the story is focused around her. As for Harima's feelings - well, just wait... the tides are turning.

Aw come on !! Itís because Harima is so shy and embarrassed he messed out so many times when he tried to confess to Tenma (number of successful attempts - 0 )Originally Posted by Swampstorm
Moreover, in Harima 'vision', Tenma is gentle, shy, cute little girl (probably everything what is bad about Tenma is automatically erased from Harima memory - this guy is completly in love with her)
[the only thing he will never forget is a taste of 'death onigiri']
There's a difference between being shy and being afraid of rejection. Yakumo is shy, while Eri and Harima are afraid of rejection.Originally Posted by Kolox
If you look at the event that brought about Harima's crush during his first meeting with Tenma, it has nothing to do with any perception of shyness. Not only that, but he gets slammed into the ground by her as well. I don't see any shyness in that act.
