Thread: Anyone up for a POT Tournament?!?!?!

Just as the title says.

I was thinking we on the forums could host a POT tourney where members on the Forums chose seven players from POT and we have a tourney to see who can create the best team. Each match members will vote on which team they think would when based on the debating of the two team creators (who ever they are).

To make thinks fair we'd have a charcter rating system and each team can only use so many points to put together there team.

Example: Each team can have 50points
Yuki-25points
Sananda-20
Tezuka-20
fuji -15
Momo-10
Inui-5

you have to have 7 members so theres no way to have the 3 best players on a team so there alittle strathey to picking whose on your team.

If anyone posts on Narutofan you should probably already know how this would work

Ofcourse I'd need help in rating every single player. Right now I'm just seeing if anyone would be interested in doing this?

I'd be interested. But we'd have to start on the rating system soon because there's a ton to rate. And having 25 points for a single player is way too much. You couldn't even have the rest of the team made up of 5-pointers due to the point restrictions.

Well that was just an example, but we do need the point system to keep people from totally overpowering there team. I'll work on a point system, then get everyones opinion and we can edit the list if need be. I'll start on this probably tommorrow, unless someone else feel like workin on it tonight.

if it cant help... nationally ranked players should have the top ranks( considering that not all of the people that played in the nationals are at tezuka's or atobe's or chitose's or sanada's level)

It's a fun idea. I think one thing to consider is ranking already existing doubles teams. For example, if Eiji and Oishi have low ranks for their skills alone, then golden pair would be an auto-pick as they are a relatively cheap pair that'll compete with the very best teams. But if you have Eiji and Oishi ranked with that in mind, they'll be overpriced if anyone wants to get creative and say, put Eiji in Singles 3. Basically, there wouldn't be any reason to not pick teams that already exist, or split up teams with skilled players to play singles. I think maybe have a penalty on picking teams that already exist. So for example, if Eiji is 8 points, Oishi is 8 points, having them play singles would make them cost 16 points, but having them play doubles together would cost 20 or so points.

I think it may also be good to think of a way to resolve ties. So for example, after 4 matches, it's tied 2-2, then in the final match, we have Sanada vs. Sanada, we have a tie. We need a way to resolve something like this

Yea I took the doubles thing into account. Does anyone have a list of every player/ team in POT?

id do it to. if you do a draft or sumtin like it, it would resolve the doubles issue and the tie issue, and you don't have to do any rankings. the only problem is that people might not get a person the want, new people cant get in on it till its over and we start again, and the order you pick. just an idea but let me no if you need help.

I'm quite up for it.
