Thread: Argh, just remembered the most annoying thing on PoT

The depiction of players receiving serves! FFS. I was just re-reading the manga, on the Kanto tie vs Hyotei, when Otori is going to use his Scud Serve for the first time. So yeah, Otori shoots it. The drawing depicts the service ace hitting the ground RIGHT AT THE SIDE OF KAIDO'S FEET.
LIKE OMG. IS KAIDO RETURNING A SERVE RIGHT ON THE SERVICE LINE LIKE A COMPLETE IDIOT, OR DID THE SERVE BOUNCE OFF THE BASELINE YET IT WAS CALLED IN?

Which reminds me of, on the anime, people serving then on the next sequence the receiving player is shown running from one side of the court to the other to receive.

LIKE OMFGIES WTF ARE THOSE GUYS DOING RECEIVING THE SERVE ON THE WRONG SIDE?!??

Seriously. There's nothing as bad as this on the series.

I think they made the serve seem to be so ridiculously fast that Kaidoh couldn't comprehend it (seriously, what a joke).

I don't ever remember people running cross court to return a serve (unless it is a twist serve, in which case it makes sense).

I remember in this happening a lot in the anime. Even in the OVAs, I remember Tezuka ran to return Kabaji's serve. XD

Sometimes, the players do stand on the service line to return a serve in the anime. It's so stupid.

Haha yeha I know what you're talking about... I've always though that was lame. Even more impressive would be if the serve blew past them when they're at the back of the court unaware.

Personally I think it makes the series funnier

Not really. I mean, why would nationally ranked players stand far away and aside from the spot in which they should be standing in?

^To throw of their opponents? Also, humans pay attention to motion more so making the characters run might be a ploy to make us more engrossed in the match.

Or maybe they wanted to run forward and get some momentum when returning a serve. It's not all THAT abnormal. Running sideways is, though.

Players can do that once in a while when they know the serve won't be threatening, but NOT over the service line! That's way too deep. x_x
