Well sacrificing an entire tennis career ought to be worth at least a championship win. But seriously, destroying your arm for 'not having regrets' would be something I would personally regret.
Agreed.... Especially since if he destroys his arm, he won't be leaving Japan at all....
^^;;; that's not what i meant--it's actually seigaku not winning, regardless if tezuka did or didn't win. I remain loyal to tezuka although right now, I'd like to whack him in the head for doing something this crazy (for someone with plans of being a pro) and at the same time salute him for being this noble (never-say-die) for his team.

it would suck if seigaku lost, since not just tezuka, but if you think about it, a lot of other team members are putting a lot of things in the line for their last year in seigaku (3rd years) like taka not playing tennis anymore and such. Nobody knows if any of the others will continue tennis anymore and that's kinda scary to think about it >.<
however, if seigaku wins, then it's just all too obvious and no twist... kinda... it might even be boring with an expected ending like that.
however, if seigaku lost, then there would be an opening to a sequel... (Do we really wanna c seigaku after tezuka, fuji, taka, inui, eiji and oishi left?! i don't wanna c a 'regulars horio' thank you very much... -.-)
this will be quite tricky to get a 'perfect ending' and make everyone happy =/
No it wouldn't. Saving your arm so that you can achieve your dream of becoming a tennis pro later is a much better logic that risking your arm and your larger dream.

I agree with you here. But apparently he also has other philosophies that undermine this logical choice (which might even be shared by Oishi since he encouraged Tezuka this time to go for it).

It's just...weird that in Pot world, the umpires and the coaches seemed to be helpless when in comes to these things. But hey, we have tennis players here that get zapped to oblivion (okay...i mean, to the stands ^^; ) so...why bother with minute things ^^;
From the feel of the last chapter, it's like Seigaku's on the bloody winning road (with all the determination panels going on). Rikkai's probably gonna turn the tides next.
sorry to quote an old post but i dont think u can become a captain your second year comeon look at tezuka he beat everybody and was only rewarded vcap i think the next captain might be momo or kaidoh
