does it seem like the author is just trying to stall because he seems to be dragging out match a lot longer than they are suppose to be??

A little, but not really. Its probably the last match in the series so it is the most climactic one as well. It should be chock full of interesting matches and so they should be long.

^So the fans wouldn't get all mad like, "WHY ISN'T MY CHARACTER FEATURED AS MUCH AS ECHIZEN RYOMA???"

The author needs time to add more ideas for the matches, especially since he has to create new things like Yukimura's invincible moves and the PoP.

^ agree with everything that's been said. basically its like the big finale so it's going to have to be... well you know really climatic.

There should be a time jump and a kickass Echizen vs. Nanjiroh match to end PoT.

^that would get the fans(for characters other than ryoma and nanjirou) mad.

ah i meant that it would be good after the nationals is done. im pretty sure there are people out there just waiting for nanjirou vs. ryoma

Well, we could always check in with the others to see how they were doing. But let's face it, Echizen is the series' main character and although it's debatable whether he deserves it or not, he should and most likely will be the one the series ends on.
