Thread: Which player does your tennis relate to?

Hey Guys, just wondering how many of the posters play tennis...

If so, is there a certain character you can relate to?

I guess I can sort of relate to a "Mini Momo", in that I can hit quite a nice smash and jack-knife backhand.

But hey, I want to hear about you guys. Which player does your tennis relate to?

My Tennis relates to Tezuka and Ryoma. Lol (jk).

Seriously though I would say my tennis relates to Ryoma in some ways. I outwit people I play and often come back from behind to win matches. If I get worn down I still play as hard as I can and try to find a way to win.

Ofcourse my record is not as good as Ryoma's, I lose sometimes.

I guess a combination of Kamio and Kaidou.

EDIT: Actually, nevermind that, Shishido Ryou works.

Mine relates mostly to Hyotei's Ootori, I got a kickass serve, but everything else is below average, but I can also jump smash as well.

Mine would be young Fuji, I play around a lot with spins, and actually dont really play to win. Its just so much fun to get on teh court and play a strong opponent. (that is fuji's style right?...)

Yeah, except that Fuji just never has to play to win because his natural talent automatically guarantees victory (against all but the strongest opponents).

Anyway, I don't really know who I compare to. I use a lot of spin on my backhand but I pretty much just blast the ball with my forehand. I guess that's kinda like Kaidoh, since he obviously spins alot and seems to be reasonably powerful.

lol thats wht i was saying, i dont play to win, just for the thrills, but ussually i win anyways ....except when i first started playing. I getting pwned by everyone who had played the previous yr on the tennis team, but i did manage to beat ALL the new comers and about 3 of 14 returning players.

Serve:
Ootoro or Ootori or whatever. (For a JV serve, it's a monster; for a Varsity serve, still pretty damn awesome. Top 6 serve on my team, girls included).

Forehand:
Well... no one has an overly brilliant forehand except Sanada spamming Rai and Ka.

Backhand:
Sanada (he slices with Fuu, I just slice [lob] and randomly hit hard).

Volley:
Think Eiji... but kicked in the nuts. 0 skill, all running around and getting an actual racquet on the ball.

Motivation for playing:
Akaya... because my main playing style is "serve-hit for a while-dropshot so they're at the net- SMASH THEM INTO NEXT WEEK".

Strangely, I can back up that last part because once he's at the net, even our school's S1 varsity guy gets scared...



All in all: Ghetto Sanada. Maybe... when he was in the third grade.

I'll try it too:

Serve: (Fuji - spins / Kaidoh Flat fast serve)
I have a variaty of serves, most of them are spin/slice serves, but my fastest serve is one of the best on the Varsity team. Just one person has been able teo return it properly, and luckyly like the others. And that person has already graduated from HS and is in like the 3rd yr of college. He sometimes comes and practices with us...helps out the new comers.

Forehand: (Kaidoh / Fuji again)
Super powerful forehand, but then again I rarely use all that power, just put a lot of different kinds of spin on the ball with moderate power. Lol I can do a fore hand Jack Knife (does that count lol)

Backhand: (fuji)
Not as strong as forehand, but its pretty strong. Ussually i slice the ball, its much easier against strong opponents.

Volley: (Eiji / Momo)
I try to jump around, but dont dive for the balls. Most of the time, I can read the people I play if i've played them like 4 or 5 times, but if i dont play them for like 2 weeks, i cant read them..lol. But yeah, b/c of my long reach, i can get those volleys easily, and sometimes i smash them back (when they're low) w/ a lot of top spin and power.

Ohh yeah i forgot to mention, drop shots are one of my specialties. B/c I play a lot with spins, I can hit a drop shot from almost any situation, and it'll just go over the net...but most of them dont bounce back as much. THey're just low and bounce twice in the same spot. I also get around the court very well, faster than most ppl i've noticed....i'm thinking thats about it.

well... i'm not good at getting specific with what i do... because i just mostly run around and get lucky. don't really have a lot of power either XP
