Cool. I suck at volleying. Not to mention I'm so out of practice with tennis. ;_; I think I'll start playing again.

I'm actually a good volleyer, well at least I can react fast enough to make it to the balls on time, as I said my strengths (or the only things I can do well) are serving and jump/ground smashing.

Volley is what I do best by far. I'm a huge net rusher, I tend to do it too often.

Really?? I'm such a slowpoke. My reaction time isn't that good. Plus, I tend to swing too hard without precision. All my volleys go out.

Either Jiro or Eiji. Jiro with the short volleys. Eiji with the backhand smash (my favorite shot).

That's my baseline hits. I struggle to keep them inside the lines, specially the backhand. Gotta change the grip, continental is too risky.

You should see by backhands, 75% of the time they turn into lobs (somehow or another). BTW what backhand do you guys used, one-handed or two-handed (if you use both which one do you use more often)? I'm a two-handed backhand.

^Me too. Though occasionally if I'm going fast I'll inadvertently switch to one handed (backhand). And if I'm playing a really intense game and I might switch hands and hit a forehand to get more power, though I'm not nearly as dexterous when I switch my hands when I'm not playing the match.

My backhand is one-handed. I suck at two-handed ones for some reason.

My problem is the opposite, war-minded_otaku. Since I use a continental grip, they often go so flat I can't get them over the net.

^The opposite lol, geez, guess we both have no luck with our backhands... oh well, I try to avoid baseline plays. I'm a net poacher, more importantly I try win with my serves. My philosophy on tennis, 'If you develop an invincible serve, that's all that matters'. Most of you would probably disagree with my opinion, but it's the style I believe in the most.

@Urameshi-sama, that might be a possible solution to some of our backhand problems, if you can't hit a backhand, then don't. Although I'm right-handed, my left-hand produces more power, maybe I should try improving the control, hmmm... BTW you're not trying to be Koshimae are you?
