I didn't know the manga actually had that arc. The anime had Tezuka going HJnK during the volleyball filler.

Yeah, they did have it, but it was at the time Tezuka was in Kyuushuu, so he wasn't present in the volleyball filler arc in the manga. It took place directly after Seigaku dethroned Rikkaidai in the Kantou tournament.
