Did anybody else notice when Kirihara was up against the fence, he resembled Jesus on the cross. Then after he turns into his "Devil" mode. I thought this symbolized Jesus' death in the Bible a bit, when he died on the cross and went to Hell afterwards.
WTf... does jesus really have a devil mode... then he is nor son of god nor he is god... however... why did he go to hell anyway... isnt he still alive..

The symbolism of the cross happens all the time in anime or manga or even japanese RPGs. It's nothing new but haven't you noticed them? Seeing Kirihara looking like that is common to see with other well known characters. Think of Rukia on Seireitei in Bleach or Kakashi in when he is in Itachi's Magenkyu Sharingan illusion in Naruto. Those are only examples but I always see them in many other well known titles I can keep going. Point is back again, it's nothing new in a manga/anime/video game etc in Japan. However, symbolisms like this is very common in a typical anime/manga title(meaning all sorts of symbolisms, not just a cross one).

Actually, I kinda agree with Fayte. I'm not sure if it's an allusion to Jesus, though. I just think of it as a sort of death. It kinda struck me as a demonic sort of thing.
I agree with Fayte. He was probably representing the death and resurrection of Christ. In this case, Rikkai's critical losses in the previous games and Kirihara's "near death experience" specifically, followed by the rebirth of his will and pride and Rikkai Dai's chances of winning. Makes sense if you interpret Akaya to be Jesus, Rikkai Dai Fuzoku as humanity and Nagoya Seitoku as death/evil/whatever.
