Well i'm only up to episode 95 in the anime so correct me if i'm wrong. But everyone says that Fuji is a prodigy but Tezuka can kick his ass and Ryoma seems better then him now so I'm just wondering if he's really that good.

Fuji is a prodigy.. so Tezuka beat him, but then again it was a close match.. if Fuji's not a prodigy, do you think he can put up a good fight against that amazing Tezuka!? a player doesn't lose his 'prodigy' title if he can put up a good fight against amazing players.. that's my view anyway..
He's a prodigy, but he's not exactly motivated to win. Plus, he's considered a prodigy because he can play tennis well without as much work as other people. Plus, when he gets serious, he's seems much better. By the way, the anime has some things that didn't happen in the manga. Tezuka and Fuji played at about episdoe 174 or so.
fuji always seemed like a boy called prodigy but he never wanted to be called like that, somehow uneasy whenever he's called like that. he feels like if he could he'd just give up tennis. . . at least that's the feeling he gave me.
he doesn't have a reason to fight. you'll see that in rikkai matches in Fuji vs Kirihara . that was an awesome chapter. . .at least in manga. i don't know what happens in anime. . . . does rikkari match takes place in anime or oav? *confused*
Fuji plays Kirihara in the anime and the manga. Your up to episode 95. So you've seen the Dual in the Rain episode. Fuji was winning when the match had to end. Just give it some time, you'll see why Fuji is a Prodigy. He wins matches never showing his true potential, he RARELY plays with 100% effort. You'll find out why later on.

Agreed. Have you been keeping up with the manga, Ocram? I suggest you read it if you haven't. If you want, you could just read Fuji's match against Shiraishi. You finally get to see Fuji's fullest power. ^.^ Btw, Fuji's match vs. Shiraishi starts with Chapter 314.
A prodigy doesn't determine if you are good or not, it only states that the guy/girl can learn quicker than other people. Like people that are born with talent for some things, there are other people that with hard work can surpass those that have just talent.

Yeah...
prodigy = guy who can get up to the top at a young age / with natural talent.
Think Hikaru no Go... Hikaru's a prodigy. Granted, Akira was too, but yeah... that kinda thing.

Fuji is a prodigy. He can play almost evenly with Tezuka. Just that the problem is he is not motivated to play. Until Fuji saw Tezuka's match with Atobe, which Tezuka fight on despite his shoulder injury, Fuji was really touched and gained more motivation. From that day onwards, Fuji starts getting serious playing his games. He even has a match with Tachibana in order to feel the national level player. He can even use Higuma Otoshi to return Tachibana's smash althought his strings are broken during the match. Then, we see the match between shiraishi and Fuji. Fuji showed us his new counter, the Gatekeeper of ....(something, I forgot). That is the true genius of Fuji to have a come back from 5-0. Later, Fuji lost after Shiraishi found the way to encounter it. But, the last encounter, ie the reolved triple counter is really something
To sum up, I would say that Fuji is a prodigy. Although we saw lots of Fuji's lost, but those games are mostly in double games (he can't play well in double) or in single (his opponents are much stronger than him).
No i dont read the manga, but i would love to. Just that i started with the Anime and for mostly get bored reading the same thing in the manga(for most series). Like for naruto i started with the anime until the end of the sasuke rescue arc and now just read the manga. But thats kus the anime pretty much exact to the manga. But is there much of a difference between the manga and the anime in PoT.
