Actually, that encouragement seemed more like a threat lol. Yay for harshness in coaching and training.

Edat: @ kawaiikitsune: you probably guessed it by now, I've alway been one for using punishment and threats as a motivation tool.

Woah, someone like Inui in real life is just in front of our... screen, war-minded otaku. LOL. So, you also make others drink your special vege juice? LOL. But having Inui as your favourite is some kind of unbelievable. Man, but everyone can have their own choice.

Lol, unfortunately, whenever i tried to do that, people just run into the sunset, never to be seen again. Anyway, my way of threatening or punishment leans more into Hyotei's coach Sakaki direction, kicking them out and making them feel like a loser. My approach is also very aggressive; apparently to the point of absolute cruelty if I don't say so myself. Inui was definitely my choice as he was a good tormentor to the team, especially those pathetic freshman trio who keep hogging the screen to themselves, killing the atomsphere.

Of course la~~~ People won't want your juice unless you could mix some real good taste into it.
Your approach might be ok but it would only make others fear you and not respect you.

Well, if people fear you, it can often get the job done just as well. In Machiavelli's The Prince he says that a strong ruler is one that is feared. Something along those lines. I can't remember the exact wording.

Lol. I'm not that slow. I usually don't like using punishment and threats, but I will if I have to. If I get really angry, I'll resort to threats.

Hmmm perhaps I should look The Prince up and see what it's like, seem whatever's in that about the strong ruler being one that's feared is really interesting. BTW don't get me wrong guys, using encouragement may be good at some occasions, however, as you say kawaiikitsune there are times when you have to, such as when people have no obligation to follow your orders when they should be. @shahrizal that's an interesting point you brought up, my methods would cause people to fear me over respecting me, but is that such a bad thing? Isn't it as long as you have them under your control, it fine isn't it? I personally think it better to be feared and have control over being respected and have no control at all. Once again the strong ruler is the one that's feared:/

The Prince is pretty interesting. ^.^ I've read parts of it. Machiavelli's idea of ruling is similar to yours. Lol.

Umm, yes, getting others fear you could make others follow you blindly and make things go as you like. But surely one day, others might not follow you any more after they can't stand you, who knows. They might even become your largest obstacle in your life.

Sharhrizal, a short post is okay, I guess, since it's still on topic. As long as his posts are not that short, it's okay.

As for controlling other people, neither respect nor fear are sure fire. Sure, people might not fear you after a while, but they may lose respect for you as well. Plus, if you use respect/liking to control people, you may have to compromise what you believe in just to keep your followers' respect. On the other hand, losing respect probably wouldn't be nearly as painful as losing fear.
