    Even if you didn't know your blind spot, wouldn't you still see the path of the ball? If you can see the ball coming at you, you should be able to judge where the ball is going to land. Don't they tell you "Always keep your eye on the ball?" If you're staring at it straight on, there's no way it's going to hit your blind spot. Unless you're telling me Atobe can hit the ball so fast that you don't see the path. In that case, hitting blind spots is just overkill and useless.

    ^I don't think its quite that simple. The rule you mentioned is one of the foundational tennis rules. Even though this manga gets very extreme sometimes, I think we can safely assume that most of the players use this rule. I think Ice World is much more tricky than hitting blind spots. Your last post made me think that maybe Ice World actually created certain blind spots that Atobe could easily recognize and hit.

    This is PoT, it doesn't have to make sense like IRL.

    World of Ice hits your blind spots and that is that. Unless you have a move or some sort of ability or skill to counter it, you can't react to the ball. That's what we know about the move...it's not really backed up by logic.

    Yukimura stated that Sanada would've lost and he did so for a reason. Konomi wouldn't have made Yuki say that if it wasn't true...

    However, I'm sure that by now, Sanada's grown much stronger than Atobe. We haven't seen proof of it yet, but we all know it's gonna be like that.

    *sigh* Whatever.... I don't ever think I'll be able to reason out the plausibility of the World of Ice. Oh well.

    That's because it doesn't make sense at all, like many other things in PoT.

    Lol. Naturally. If it made sense, PoT fans would just watch normal tennis. Not that I don't. I love watching tennis. I was very sad when Agassi retired. ;_;

    Even if the World of Ice makes sense (which I'm going to assume it does), I think Sanada can figure out a way to combat it because Ryoma did. Lol. Maybe Renji should play Atobe instead. He never opens his eyes, so I guess anywhere you hit the ball would be a blind spot. Renji can conquer the World of Ice! (By the way, I'm just kidding. >.<)

    Hahaha, maybe. It's likely that Sanada would find a way to counter it. I'm just saying Sanada would've lost the game Yukimura said he'd lose, mainly because I take statements like that as fact unless they're contradicted later, but other than that, he's always been stronger than Atobe.

    And I also love watching normal tennis. PoT is just crazy and fun. But I think the quality's gone down a lot. We all wanna know how the story finishes, but the character development, hot blood, and moves and writing were better before. I think it was great up to and including the Seigaku - Rikkai game, and the quality's been going down since, though with some nice highlights, admittedly.

    I'm actually surprised that the World of Ice worked. Ryoma's played with his eyes closed before, right? I could have sworn we've seen characters play with their eyes closed. Fuji definitely has. If Fuji could do it, I don't see why other players couldn't either.

    ^Yeah, we've seen both Fuji and Echizen play with their eyes closed. The fact that Echizen didn't use it (or couldn't use it) in the Atobe match was probably because Konomi is forgetting all the other crazy crap he's made the POT players pull in the past.
    In other words, this is a crappo-ploto-jutsu or a plot hole.

    yes, but echizen playing with his eyes closed is part of the echizen zone, so its not a thing that is out of this world to close ur eyes and hit a ball that always comes to you ...... in three words, fuji is better!
