Tachibana might be a good buchou, but in my opinion, still, Tezuka is the best. Tezuka could handle his team well.
    • He can boost up his team's confidence,

    • He know every single weaknesses of his team members and try to make them improve their special moves to cover up their weaknesses. For example, Tezuka and Oishi talk together about how Tezuka could hit 26 leaves that fall down. That boost up Ryoma's will to train more. Another case is that Tezuka and Oishi talk about hitting tennis on wood to gain more energy, that makes Momo really fires up and took the 'advice'.

    • He still carries on the match although his shoulder hurts a lot. He still want to make Seigaku into National despite teh risk that he might lose his arm.

    • He is my favourite character, lol...

Haha. Your last reason is part of my list of reasons, too. Lol. He also has the team's respect and trust. They never doubt his instructions. I think Tachibana is a really good captain, too. Tezuka and Tachibana are both good, but they're teams are kinda different. Seigaku is stronger player-wise. It's not really Tachibana's fault.

Yeah, its just that Fundomine's players are weaker than Seigaku's. Tachibana is like a lion that can hardly show his true self. Anyway, this makes Tezuka stands out more in his leadership when Tezuka successfully lead Seigaku to final in hte national.

True, but it's not Tachibana's fault. He has no "tensais" on his team. Considering his team, it's pretty impressive that they even made it to the quarterfinals. (Why the heck am I arguing against Tezuka? *smacks self*) I can't help but bring up the fact that Fudomine is the victim of many fanfic writers. They often get made fun of in fanfiction because they're so loyal to Tachibana. Lol.

I too fell in love with Tezuka at first sight, but I really think Tachibana is the better buchou. However, let me note that when I say better I do not mean innately better (if there's such), only what how the situations allowed the captains to showcase their leadership skills.

Shahrizal, the reasons you gave are not really unique to Tezuka. Boost the team's confidence? Tachibana did a lot more; he actually boosted Fudomine's will to work hard and achieve. Knows every weakness of their team members? I do not remember a specific situation in the Fudomine team that manifested this, but I think it is implied. But I'm fairly certain that Tachibana knows more about the psychology and personal affairs of his team than Tezuka (to his own team). Want to lead the team to the Nationals even hurting himself? I can't find a parallel case for Tachibana, but as Kamio (I think) realized, their buchou even sacrifices his own practice time in order to train his boys.

I think a strong sign of leadership ability is the feeling of the members towards their buchou. Seigaku members have deep respect and trust for Tezuka, but for reasons almost entirely because of tennis and nationals goal. For Fudomine, it runs much deeper. Hell, they actually love Tachibana. Their respect, trust and affection is not simply because of tennis, but what Tachibana has done to them as a person. Heartwarming, yeah.

Tezuka is great and all and I think he's second best, but Tachibana definitely ranks above them all.

Lol. "They actually love Tachibana." Haha. Yeah.... The funny thing is that it's true.

This isn't a completely parallel to the whole injury idea, but Tachibana's match against Kirihara was somewhat similar. He could have quit and avoided an injury, but he wanted to keep playing. *shrugs* It's not quite the same, but it's similar.

Alright, you can always place Tachibana 1st. But for me, Tezuka is still the best.
I guess every team loves their buchou. Not just Fundomine. Even Seigaku, Hyotei, etc.
Yeah, Tachibana's style is the same as Kirihara. It is really dangerous if he really gets serious. More players would get injured. When Tachibana isin Kyuushu, he injured someone's eye. But, after he sealed off his style, he became a weaker player, I guess.
About Tachibana, he punch his sensei after his sensei portected the senpais that bullied the freshmen. Tachibana didn't fight back when the senpais whacked them. But for him to loose his coolness to hit his teacher when his teacher didn't protect the freshmen, I don't think that is a wise decision. He should bring the case to the rpincipal or something.

fudomine has Ibu Shinji, you can call he's a great talent with his ability "spot" at least Ryuuzaki said something like that in fudomine match.

before i become obsessed with Hyoutei Fudomine was my second best. but right now i scream while running around "Katsu no wa Hyoutei!!!" . yes, i can't resist Atobe's charm. . .

he's a neat buchou too. Tachibana is still my first!

    shahrizal,

Yeah, sure, agreed. But let me say that I'd rather see you rebut the arguments for Tachibana rather than insist on Tezuka just because. Judging leadership is an objective matter, though of course there are probably small subjective parts, so it's not a "for you" and "for me" issue. =/ But yeah, I wouldn't insist on arguing further anyway.

As for the punching incident, I really have no opinion for it. He lost his cool, yeah, but I think that's one isolated incidents. He probably thought that JHS players are just kids so he does not expect any better from them. But with the teacher, he was so mad and disappointed because their supposed model is encouraging immature actions. I don't really know. All I can say is that nitpicking isn't that effective; overall, Tachibana is definitely the best buchou.

Okay guys.... Let's not start a heated argument. Everyone can have their own opinion.

Haha. Let's start a new dicussion that's sort of a tangent off this one. Who's the WORST buchou? Lol. I say Aoi. He doesn't know what the heck he's doing.
