    Smile Ryoma's U.S Open

I just finish watching PoT eps and 3 eps of National Championship.

I am just wondering how did ryoma make it to the the National ?
The anime stated that the dates of the National's and the U.S clashed.

I didnt read the manga yet. So did Ryoma lose the U.S open ?
What's his ranking at the competition and how he flare ?
Was those stated in the manga ?

    Thanks..

lets say he completed the US open but did not go further to wimbledon, after he completed the US open he flew back to Japan and went to the nationals with them,, the US open must've finsihed bewfore the nationals but if he were to carry on to wembledom then he wouldnt be able to make it. After all, he went to the US open just to complete his dad's dreams like Kevin said, and he did so.

Anyway, if i were you i'd ignore him going to the US open, because that's just a whole new story the anime made up, in the manga, he does NOT go to the US open. So just ignore that he went, because it would do your head in. That American team dont even go to Japan to visit so Kevin really doesnt exist in the original story line. Sooo i recommend reading the manga too, although anime is good.

    yeah theres four stages
    US open
    French open
    Australian Open
    Wimbledon

thats why everyone was like "are you sure you dont want to go there? You could become a pro, it's a lifetime chance etc.etc." Nanjirou was gonna become one of the well-known but he wanted he's son Ryoma to carry on his dreams for him, but he didnt say up to wimbledon (lucky, otherwise we wont be able to see Ryoma in the nationals of the anime) he only said US open so.. =] yeah.

The US Open is one of the four Grand Slam tournaments, that make up the Grand Slam tour. US Open, French Open, Australian Open and Wimbledon. Dunno about the order they're played in. Anyway, if you participate in one of these tournaments, you don't necessarily have to play all the others. Ryoma only got an invitation to the US Open, and I really don't think that he won (even though the anime seems to imply things that way) so he came back to Japan in order to guide his team through the Nationals.

Well that happens. Richard Gasquet, a pro tennis player, defeated a pro when he was just like 15 years old. And that's young for a professional tennis player.

I dunno about what happened in the anime but in real life, to be able to play in the US Open (or any popular international tennis event for that matter), which is one of the four tennis Grand Slams (the biggest events in the world of professional tennis), I think one should be a pro. So Ryoma should've been a pro when he played Hewitt. But that is just in the anime because he did not become a pro after the Kantou finals in the manga.

Again, I dunno if this is the case with the anime (because apparently, I did not watch the last episodes) but the US Open in real life is actually the last Grand Slam of the season. On the contrary, Wimbledon precedes the US Open by five or six weeks.
