Is the cool drive the same as cyclone smash? I think before they used the term cool drive in the manga and cyclone smash in the anime but then in OVA nationals 2, they said that cool drive is a new move that Echizen picked up during his US stint.

The prototype cyclone smash was demostrated to Atobe during Seigaku's training somewhere in the mountains.

They're two different shots. As far as how they're shown:

Anime
---
Cyclone Smash - Rikkai Arc v. Sanada
Cool Drive - Higa Arc v. Tanishi

Manga
---
Cool Drive - Rikkai Arc v. Sanada
Cyclone Smash - Not shown in the manga

Cool Drive - A smash that doesn't bounce.
Cyclone Smash - Echizen jumps with his body twisted 90 degrees and he snaps it back to normal position as he hits the shot.

Tannhauser was returned by Atobe when Ryoma copied it with SoSA with the Front Foot Hop.
