    Default epitome/pinnacle of virtuality

this is a great anime with many suspensful moments and many retarded moments as well. first id like to say that some of the moves are impossible. YES SOME OF YOU MIGHT DISAGREE WITH ME BUT HEAR ME OUT
well if no one happens to disagree with me ill feel liek a complete idiot but thats not the point

there have been countless people telling me that its theoritically possible. Well for crying out loud there are so many things that are theoritically possible.
we humans dont even use more than 10% of our mental capacity. then why cant we use 100% isnt that possible?
but today if u can use more than 10% of ur intelect capacity ur considered a frikin genius.
who says you cant jump as high as you want?. just keep jumping and increase your muscle mass until you reach the hight you want to reach. Wats wrong with jumping high afterall if you can jump that high then you should have enough muscle to absorb the impact when u fall.
are all these ideas possible currently? hell frikin no. do u kno that there is a limit on the human body.
u think that u can put enough back spin to make it roll?? for frikin sake dude if you could do that then you're defying the laws of physics and no one can do that except the people in "eureka"(tv show on sci fi channel)

alrite ill let the momo sempai dunk smash go because i guess its an exagerration of anime nd stuff. but like can they at least show us the difference between momo's jump and all the other people's jump. i mean sure he can jump backwards or fowards but its still the same hight. Yes oh no the dunk is so powerful but not powerful enough to be countered with the triple counters!!! uhoh dont make me use the tsubame gaishi on you because now there is a slight breeze of the wind!!!!

oh sorry buddy dont make me use drive b cuz i will!!. alrite just hold on wait 3 minutes as i slide on my heels... see so many things are unrealistic yet people tell me that they are realistic which is complete load of bull.
alrite the super rising is plausible
but like a shot that rolls?
u have to be frikin kidding me!. a ball that never fking bounces. you kno wat thats called ?? thats called a dead ball!!. actually even dead balls bounce so wat the frik... i am so tired and sick of people giving me the example of a ping pong ball and a frikin rug. do u kno wat is wrong with that? i mean its completely true if u put backspin on the ping pong ball once it reaches the surface of the rug it will roll back. you kno wat the difference is?
ITS IN THE FRIKIN SURFACE dude even on the rug it bounces a little because of the motion and the trajectory of the ping pong ball but seriously if ur going to tell me that the surface is the same i will simply just walk a way and watch my daily food channel shows.

please accept that most of the moves in prince of tennis is unreal to the point that i just want to sleep right now. so if anyone wnats to tell me which moves are real and unreal i will be happy to discuss with them.

i kno you think that i have made a contradictory statement in my paragraph after all i said "theoritically possible". but is it really possible? sure if u defy laws of physics but i mean is it right now possible? does that realm of possibility exist today? hell frikin no you expect people to work on slicing the balll at god knoes wat speed. ah forget it guys dude its just not possible
    do u kno why?
cuz the laws of physics says so the laws of motion. no one defies gravity in the earth. sure is it theoritically possible for you to defy gravity sure but is it possible? hell no....well i hope u understand
well cept for steve tarada hes a diff case check him out on you tube
"tricking" that is just an awesome sport now.
but uh for teh rest of ya peace!

"tsubame gaishi on you because now there is a slight breeze of the wind!!!!"

    1) Thats Hakugei dude. tsubame gaeshi counters topspin with extreme slice

    2) I have NO idea what your really winging about. Its an exagerration, get over it. Slices do cause it to bounce lower. Strong enough, it COULD not bounce. Do we care if that could actually happen? Hardly.

Get over yourself, you seem to have a sense of superiority using your physics crap to make your point. WE ALREADY KNOW ALL THAT STUFF. Its a manga. Its for fun. Wanna try to do a move, go for it, could work, maybe not as well as them.

ps. the only interesting part of your post was the dead ball bit. i found that pretty funny XD

who the hell ever said it was real? its quite obvious that a majority of their moves are extremely impossible, some moves are just an exagerration of the anime so who the hell said that u have to believe its real, i somehow agree with u fetus, but one of the main point of the manga was to entertain people and fill them with exitement in the world of tennis

    You're making too big of a deal over this O_o;;

Its just an ANIME/MANGA. ^^ You know cartoons? Drawings?? lol no one claims that these moves are real. Though some of them are possible, most of them are fake. No one actually slides on the court while playing tennis...well at least none of the games I've seen they've done that >_>

    P.S. it's called Hakugei...

Current Obsession-Tenimyu, Tenipuri, Fuji Syuusuke, Tezuka Kunimitsu and Yukimura Seiichi. ^///^

my friend actually want to believe he can do moves in PoT.. he knows they're not possible, but he still fantasize about them anyway.. and i think there are some ppl who are like that..

and it is afterall.. a manga.. who cares if they're fakes.. as long as the moves are cool and not too BS (like Tezuka Zone in the movie)

Of course they are real. (I read it on the internet.)

    Seriously though.

Since when does anime follow the laws of physics?

Anime and manga in general, like all other fiction, asks a certain level of suspension of disbelief in one way or another to be able to enjoy.

    PoT is no exception.

Animes that are 100% realistic are rare.

But then again, its even rarer for my trivial knowedge of tennis to be of any use.

PoT moves that I have seen used in real life:

Twist Serve / Kick Serve - It is real and used quite often. Just not to exaggerated level of PoT. Patrick Rafter is a notable profesional tennis player that has a really good twist serve.

Twist Smash / Kick Smash - The same arm motion of a kickserve, just used on a high ball while in play. Not impossible, but a straight no frills smash provides a much lower chance for error.

Kohou Serve - Despite it's name, it's just a plain flat serve with an added jump. Since flat serves highly depend on a high initial height to go in, a lot of shorter players can be seen jumping when using a flat serve. Good examples are Arnaud Clement, David Ferrer and Justine Henin-Hardenne.

Drive A / Cannon Volley - It's just a really good mid-volley with a small amount of naturally generated topspin. Nothing unreal. But then again anyone can call their roundhouse kick the Super Tornado Kick of DOOM. (Cue the loud screaming lady.)

Drive B - Without the exaggerated sliding it is just a forward leaning topspin mid-volley. Nothing unusual there. Max Mirnyi and Igor Kunitsyn both commonly use it as a net approach shot (without the sliding of course.)

One Footed Split Step - They teach it to baseball infielders, boxers, basketball players, and american football players too. Watch the Bryan Brothers (Mike and Bob) or Leander Paes, all three of them do it very fluildly and naturally. Or if you want an almost unreal example go watch american football players Gale Sayers or LaDainian Tomlinson do it.

Rising and Super Rising - It's used pretty commonly by aggressive baseline players and even more commonly on service returns. Andre Agassi is a master of this on service returns and Paradorn Srichaphan is a good example of how people can be seen using it occasionally while playing the baseline.

Dunk Smash - It's just a normal smash just taken earlier by jumping toward the high ball. It's used to take time away from your opponent to react and to add more power to the ball despite a larger chance for error. Even the anime height exaggerations are possible if you get highly gifted athletes with 40+ inch (100 cm) vertical jumps to play tennis.

Moon Volley - It's just a really high lob. Oishi's form during a so-called moon volley is the archetypical form you want when performing a a lob, although dragging your racket on the ground just makes it harder to pinpoint the lob in real life. Wrecks your racket too.

Australian Formation - It's not really called this, but its been used here and there. Notably by John McEnroe and Michael Stich during a 1992 Wimbledon doubles quarterfinals match.

Acrobatic Style - Plenty of professional players can be seen doing behind the back or between the legs shots when they can't get to the ball any other way. Andy Roddick, Westley Moodie, and Lleyton Hewitt are infamous for occasionally showing off with this style of tennis.

All the other moves are so fake they put Pamela Anderson's boobs to shame.
