itz sorta stupid but itz really confusing me so..
in every single play ryoma says mada mada dane
but in every single sub title it has a different meaning
so can anyone give me a word for word definition??

word for word,

it means "not yet not yet"

Or in oour terms, you could be saying "Your not good enough yet", "You havent reached my level", "Train harder coz i still pwn you". that kinda thing. You can say it any number of ways, but it generally means the same thing. hey prob change the subtitles just so its less repetitve for the readers

but both in the manga and in the anime ryoma spoke in english during his match against Sanada, and one of the words he spoke was "you still have lots more to work on" which was described as the english translation for Mada Mada Dane

yes that's right. generally I think it depends on when or where you say it. But all in all it means "you still have lots more to work on", "you are not good enough" or "I'm way better than you".

basically the best translation would be you still have lots more to work on.. but when he did say it once to Fuji after the Jirou match, it means that Fuji hasn't shown his full potential yet..
