did Ryoma won the US Open or did he lost? Cuz in the anime he came back to Japan and was playing in the national.

dunno...cuz in the anime he said he came back to cheerfor everyone.......and the taxi driver said that he did well in the US opening

At the end of the anime 178 credits, I'm pretty sure it implied that he won the tournament with the ball landing in the court and Ryoma saying "mada mada dane"

not sure.. hope not.. all i know he beat Lyleton Hewitt (sorry if the spelling is wrong)

There was a translation from one of the groups that released Nationals ep 1 that had the taxi driver saying Ryoma won the nationals... didn't exactly say it was Ryoma, but it was implied cause he pretty much said "some little kid won the US open. If you try hard enough, you could get that good, too." Think it was the Anime-Jiyuu release.

Ryoma winning the US Open would have been too good to be true. If that were the case, there would have been little point in playing in the Nationals.

i thought the taxi driver only said something about some kid who did well in the US open.. dam.. couldn't be bothered rewatching it.. anyway.. if the author really implying to say that Ryoma won the US open, for a guy at his age so that we think that wow.. it's super cool!! that just didn't do it for me.. i think the author is getting more BullS.. might as well make Nanjiroh lost to him..

haha yes. I ddn think he won either cuz he made back to the national.
anyways if he won the US Opening than it's to good to be true.

I think he won to signify HE IS DA BEST!!! I don't think they expected to make an OVA when they were still finishing it off the original.
