Thread: Semi-Final Order Predictions.

With the semi-finals coming up, what do you think Seigaku's playing order will be? Here's my guess:

Singles 3: Echizen

I get the feeling (though I hope I'm wrong) that Echizan's role in the semi-finals will be played down so he can be given a bigger role in the finals. Who else wants to see a Tezuka vs. Yukimura match-up instead of Echizen winning the tournament for Seigaku as usual? In any case, I think it's almost a given that the West's super rookie will be his opponent. This match-up could just as easily be in Singles 2 or 1, but here's where I think it should be.

Doubles 2: Kikumaru + Kawamura

With Oishi still injured, and Kawamura not featuring in the quarter-finals, I think this pair could be possible. It would make a nice speed/power match if Shitenhouji go with the same order.

Singles 2: Fuji

Syuusuke shows why he's still better than Echizen (at least I hope -_-; ). With Fuji playing no role against Hyoutei, this would be his logical place. It'll probably be against Chitose.

Doubles 1: Inui + Kaidou

We've been seeing this pair a lot, but I guess it could work.

Singles 1: Tezuka

Things go back to normal with Tezuka at the helm. Stroywise, this would probably be because Tezuka thinks Ryouma would grow more against that other kid instead of the captain. Who'd you think is Shitenhouji's strongest player, by the way? The captain, the afro or the kid?




The real playing order could be something very different (e.g. Inui, Echizen and Fuji in singles, Momoshiro/Kaidou and Kikumaru/Kawamura in doubles, and Tezuka as the substitute ^_^; ), but this is my guess.

Heh... the two aces of Kyuushu weren't captains for either of their teams last year, and one of them still isn't this year. How sad... Kippei's rival isn't even a captain.

Ryoma's playing the west's super rookie. That's a given. Doubles 2, I'd have to say its Taka and Eiji, also. Eiji isn't much for speed, but having all those spare 'afterimages' around may be useful while they're trying to decide which way to hit, and we all know Taka's stronger than Ishida so he can prolly return Ishida-bro's super-duper hadokyuu. Singles 2... not sure if it's going to be Fuji or Tezuka. Tezuka can do singles 2 to ensure at least one win, while they may not and have a possible Tezuka loss... or something random like that. Doubles 1, prolly Momo and Kaidou or Iniu and Kaidou.

Or it could be momo against Tooyama cause they're both strong... or even Taka, but he sucks too much.

Can't really make any predictions until we've seen what the rest of Shintenhouji can do, but this is my guess for now.

Ok, This is my Looks at it.

Singles 3: Obviously the Showdown of the super rookies. Echizen Vs West Super Rookie(Dont remember name xD)

Doubles 2: Taka And Eiji as well. Its because of the matchup used against Fudomines Doubles 2. They have speed + power. Taka has power, while Eiji who isnt SUPER fast, but probably one of the quickier players on the team as well has the ability to be at multiple places at once.

Singles 2: FUJI VS CHITOSE!. EVEN though though i dont want to see Tachibana lose. I think he will lose to Chitose on his Singles 2 match. And because Fuji and Kippei are pretty tight buddies, i think Fuji wants to see how strong Chitose is himself.

Doubles 1: Inui-Kaidoh pair! Well the manga havent showned the other teams Doubles 1 team yet, and i dont know any of there abilities, but from speculation, it would have to be Inui-Kaidoh because of the team play they have done so far.

Singles 1: Tezuka. Even though alot of the teams aces are played at Singles 2(have you guys noticed that?) Tezuka is just a trump that you gotta save the best for last. And Tezuka should be able to trust Fuji at singles 2.

HOLY SHIT!!!! Tachibana got hit in the eye by chitose, and it looks like tachibana is about to revert back to his violent offensive style of tennis in chapter 309,even though this would be cool we all know that in the end he would still lose, that just sucks his my favorite character, oh well it looks like i dont have to write my prediction for their line up its pretty much obvious already

I don't know why, but I find Chitose cool. But I think Tachibana's cool. I don't know who I'm going to root for.

And about the line up, yeah, I agree with what all of you said.

Of course you should root for Tachibana Kippei. He owns all. Chitose's chill, but Tachibana's a badass.


lol. Good thing he starts killing Chitose. If he kills him, he'll prolly wax his pubes as penitence. >.> Funny thing to see happening in the manga. An would be like "EW." Echizen would look down there and be like "Mada mada dane."

I'm just not sure if tachibana will lose. I was waiting for a fudomine and seigaku match in the nationals, but it won't happen. And has somebody noticed that next year fudomine will have a strong team, cause their players are all 2nd years(xcept tachibana)

ya i already knew that =D. Next year fudomine(if the story goes that far) has a really nice team, but i dont really see a leader on there team. I really want Ibu to take over xD, but from the looks of it, its Kamio.

I get shivers when I think of the 3yrs graduating. I mean, who'll be left at Seigaku? Momo, Kaidoh and Echizen! The others are pretty ordinary. So even though it will be sad, I hope the series won't drag on. (Maybe it'll be OK if there are new strong players to give Echizen a run for his money joining the club. :P )

As for the line-up for the semi-finals: I totally agree with IRONBOMB.

Well, those 3 would be among the strongest players in junior high tennis, so placing them in singles (e.g. S3: Kaidou, S2: Momoshiro and S1: Echizen) would usually get 3 wins.

If you use the same logic, the team in most trouble would be Rikkaidai, as only Kirihara would be left, and he'd be a third year. But we'd assume than a big club like Rikkaidai would have strong players coming up their ranks.

Even without new students, Seigaku might be able to use some of the existing members (who the mangaka tells us have trained very hard) to fill the gaps. Arai and that other second year might make a doubles pair, with the two first years (the tall Oishi look-alike and the short one) suddenly showing some talent. Then "Two Years of Tennis Experience" warming the bench ^_^;. It would definately be nothing like Seigaku's current squad, but I can still see them competing with 3 very solid members, 4 hardworking ones and a loser.
