dude that sucks why does only one person have so much control over these manga, if they had atleast 2 this wouldnt happen all the time
Gee, don't get too up and about just yet. An ilness can mean many things. Sure, to stop the comic from being produced, that's big, but it does not necessarily mean Oda's life is in danger or anything. Wait up and see what happens before you pain the devil on the wall.

hmm... if he dies i think the best would be to stop the manga....
i think some people (close friends, director) know more or less what will happen in OP, but it's not enough to keep the manga alive >.>
and imagine if a mangaka like the one making naruto write the story O.o ... that would be worse than 4kids ;p
If he dies which I sincerely hope not I think they would continue the anime in Japan by making it up as they go along. Though I think that Oda already has a script of One Piece or maybe notes of whats going to happen but it wouldn't be the same without him :(.

and about the script thingy, I think Oda has already a basic out line of wat will happen without detail.
If Oda dies here, that means that he's only got this much ability.
