    Besides, if we're going to play this game, Zoro cut the six blades of the octupus apart and it's highly likely they were steel as well.

    The key is that in a canon storyline Zoro had already cut steel blades, so his whole thing with Mr. 1 was pointless.

    Besides, considering the technique that Zoro uses, the thickness of the material doesn't matter at all.

    Also those swords were like 300 kg, which means they were too heavy to be steel, Lead and other heavy metals are pretty soft, they'd break a lot easier than any of the named swords
