Well, when Aokiji first met Luffy, he says that he "took care" of his grandfather or something like that. And he's the one who finished off Saul.

no gol .d roger is probably luffy's grandfather..... and saul is a giant and probably don't have any family because he betrayed the marine for Ohara
interesting theory..but i still think that luffy's granpa is roger
If you think about it. He did have "trouble" with Saul. Not really, but it seemed that Aokoji was at the point where he was regretting or dreppress about Saul's death. But I don't think it's Luffy's grandpa

Aokiji, as Admiral, probably "took care" of quite a lot of people. According to your logic, ALL of them would be Luffy's grandfathers, right?
We know from what Saul said are the D's are related. But when Aokiji said that we got an unsual reaction from Luffy and even his crew members noticed it but Luffy didn't say anything and the topic is yet to come up between them, they probably forgot or are afraid to dig up Luffy's past. And when you look at it they almost don't know anything about Luffy's past. I'd say it's between two people: either Saul or Roger. And I think it is most likely Roger because everybody Luffy met so far compared him to Roger or see Roger in Luffy.
Well everyone is jumping to conclusions about Luffy's Grandfather when it is quite possible that we havn't met him yet and as for comparing Roger and Luffy together I think that you could compare them whether they were related or not.
There is a slight problem with this theory.
See, Saul is a fucking giant, Luffy is not. Ergo, Saul probably isn't related to Luffy by blood. Quite simple, no?
they are related by blood, since they have not said it , it is 99.9% that they are related by blood and Saul with his own mouth said that Everybody in my family line got a D. in their name. It must mean just that since the mangaka especially pointed it out

Why was this thread created when there was a previous one that had the same exact question and theories?
