why didn't someone try to plant DF? maybe because there's no seed?

also i've been wondering with the idea that DF came from the lost kingdom, assuming they do came from there, then why did they got wiped out by the WG? if everyone just eat one DF certainly one of 'em will get the logia, and something like eneru's power is enough to beat anyone or even everything as he has proven.....or maybe the DF shows up after the kingdom fall down??
Its interesting that you mention Eneru because maybe the devil fruits origin could be from the sky where alot of the fruits have fallen down either that or the devil fruit that he got went up knock up stream but its kind of puzzling as how it got there.

I have another theory... the devil fruits are all just the same fruits, just differing from appearance and shape. The powers gained are not based on the fruit itself. The powers would be either random, or it may also be based upon the person who ate.
Ex. Say Luffy didn't eat the fruit he ate, which everyone assumes is a Rubber Rubber fruit. Another person ate it. But instead of gaining rubber-like properties, he instead gained another power...

Does my theory sound sensible? I have no evidence though, and this are all mere speculations.

I also had this theory, which I posted on another thread, where the fruits are actually spawned by the ocean itself, and that the ocean is angered by the ones who have eaten her fruits.

Straying off some i want to see a devil fruit user eat another fruit. They say one explodes but we havent see it yet (or have we i cant remember)

And is it possibly to absorb like the baku fruit. The bearer of that fruit could eat stuff and gain attributes from it like canons and so forth.

There are two things that puzzle me:

    1) When Luffy ate his fruit, Shanks claimed that whoever eats this becomes "rubber man". How did he know? But I am willing to write this one off as a continuity error.

    2) On Skypiea, when Laki meeds defeated Shandian warrior (Kamikiri) and he tells her that Enel is indeed a god and can't be defeated, she correctly guesses Enel's fruit (Goro goro) and mentions that it's one of the strongest Logia types. However, she seems to not have known from before that it was Enel who ate this fruit, suggesting that she knows about types of DF and how they are classified (curious ability, one might note, for a woman whose race didn't live in Blue Seas for 400 years).

For that matter, it was never really explained how DF got to Skypiea. My theory is that they float on sea currents, so I guess it could be shot there by Knock-Up Stream.

for no 1: maybe there's someone who already ate that fruit previously? and therefore has been recorded...kaku has the "handbook" of DF, so someone is definitely keeping track of what kind of power that can came from certain fruit.

for the last one, eneru is not from skypiea, he's from another island somewhere, although the location of the knock out stream is changing we can't be sure that there's one that goes through his island, it's been said that there's another way to go the the sky islands maybe the fruit pass through that route? but then again, we got no idea what's the other route looks like.

i just remember......didn't the knock out stream only goes to the white sea and the sky islands is on white-white sea? how did the fruit travel to the island then? there's only one way to white2 sea that i knew, which was through that toll gate....

Where was said that Enel is not from Skypiea? From what I gathered, the White-white sea contained several islands and Enel was just from one of the more distant ones... From island other than the one where Lovely Street was and where all the other Skypiean characters were from. The manga says that he destroyed his island six years ago when he became god (I think this caused extinction of several dials).

Also, Enel didn't know of rubber before he met Luffy. Existence of such lightning-immune material came as complete surprise to him. If he ever lived in Blue Sea, he would know about rubber (at least in form of Usopp's favorite rubber bands).

The first place they went to when they came up from Knock-Up stream was not an island but the white sea and then they went to Skypeia one of the sky islands which is on the white-white sea 3000 metres up, from the white sea.
