Default How did Robin get her devil fruit?

Think about it... Robin had her devil fruit ability before she turned 8 years old... Who in their right mind would give a child a devil fruit? (Luffy stole his, so he is a special case) And if nobody gave her the devil fruit, this could bring out the question of where the fruits appear... Maybe the just spawn randomly?

The same question can be applied to Chopper. I think Devil Fruits are supernatural mutations of normal fruits.

That brings to mind a single question with two main possibilities:

Where do devil fruit come from?

The first possibility is that they all have one source and are somehow distributed randomly across the world. The second is that they appear randomly around the world and have no primary source. The idea that they are supernatural mutations of regular fruit is appealing for the second theory because it means something has "changed" the fruit, but it doesn't require all of them to come from the same place.

I think they showed chopper eating the fruit in his flashback, so yea, i'd say it just coincidentally came into her hands, like finding a hundred bucks on the ground
In her case, perhaps the fruit was somewhere in the library, dunno if she had her powers before she met the historians tho

I think she only came to the historians because all the kids thought she was a freak/monster because of the devil fruit. So she had to have gotten it before.

it does require all of them to come from the same place
Well, actually, mutations don't require anything but time and energy to happen, so devil fruit do seem to pop up randomly. It kind of explains why Devil Fruit are rare and expensive, and all people who eat them aren't really rich.

My theory is that Devil Fruit grow at one place (probably Raftel), but they fall in the sea afterwards and FLOAT. The sea currents carry them all around the world. Since every sngle human in One Piece lives close to sea, it's just a matter of who finds them. If Robin found a fruit in the sea as a little child, it's just logical that she would eat it - she might not be in age when she'd knew that randomly eating things you find can be bad for you.

Sorry, that was a typo. I meant "doesn't". Your logic and mine are the same.

There is also the possibility that the fruits are spawned by the ocean itself. The curse would be a result of the oceans anger towards those who eats the fruits.

Woah, that sounds almost mythological. That'd be kinda cool.
