Thread: How Exactly did Gold D. Roger Die

He died on a tall podieum, which implies that he wasn't hanged,
Some say he was stabbed in the heart with spears.
I then read the manga over again and It never said how he died.

beheading by gullotine...

luffy was about to be beheaded the same way Roger was by Buggy, remember?

Stabbed in the heart by two spears. I'm going by the anime though.

Luffy was about to be beheaded here. And since Buggy is a clown, and as you know, all clown has a twisted sense of humor and irony, I assume that he would excute Luffy the same way Gol D. Roger was excuted.

you know, i have this theory that he wasn't actually killed. it was some sort of trick, a fake death if u will. he's actually waiting at the last island in the grand line ready 2 congratulate the 1 that makes it by showing or telling them what the one piece really is...

And THAT'S why he laughed when he was about to die because he knew it was just a trick! Just like Luffy!

Anime and manga, is always different on few things, that is why if you are looking for details manga is the best thing, and if you enjoy to see the things in motion there is anime, and Gol D. Roger didn't die by spears. And no he isn't alive, because that would ruin this whole thing sicne there wouldn't be any need for a new "Pirate King".

Anime's are usually censored a bit compared to their manga counter-parts, a stab to the heart is alot less dramatic then a beheading.

Luffy didn't laugh because he knew he was gonna come out safe and sound, he really did think he would die.

What makes you so sure, they never really did show how he died in the manga so the best way to go by is the anime.

Traditionally it's beheading or by hanging. Since he WAS by a guillotine (sp?) he was probably beheaded. Haven't seen much of the anime so I'm not going by that.
