If a giant ate a devil fruit it may be too small to affect its bloodstream or body and maybe they might only be able to get just 25% or so of the fruits power.

Saying it like that makes me think that the Devil Fruit is some technological creation, not magic. If it were, the only way it could have been created would be during those 100 lost years of history when they had super weapons/ships/whatever like Pluton and Poseidon. In that case, it'd probably have something to do with that Country that got erased. (The one that everyone is saying the 'D.' people come from.)

if they were able to "make" DF, they wouldn't have been anihilated....

i stick to the magic interpretation (until we have more evidence that is) which seems more logical and appealing to me...
and saying a giant would get 25% of the power of the DF because he is 4th time bigger seems crappy to me -_-

he is a tall man, but is far from having the size of a giant.... he is about 1/5th in high compared to a giant...

In the anime luffy only ate the half fruit but i havent seen any difference in the manga(in ability)

i think luffy ate it all too.... but i won't check ever :P

but from what the guy from cp9 said, it doesn't matter if you eat it all or not...
as it's supposed to be some sort of demon (or whatever the name) inside the DF, it seems impossible to cut it in pieces, thus the first guy that bites the DF gain the "ability" and if others bite the same DF there is nothing left except the bad taste ^^"
