It was never explained Maybe Dragon never got officialy married with Luffy's and Ace mother and Ace just took their mother name. But that's my theory which is based on complete lack of evidence.

Fire would ussually nullify ice, but Ace isn't here anymore. Ice can be easily broken but Aokiji easily heals himself and counters with ice time.

The thing is, he got his with the first kick of Gomu Gomu no storm, so like many logia users, if they don't expect it, they're vulnerable.

I think there is great difference in physical strength between Aokiji and Ace - Aokiji might be dead meat when sucked, he might not have enough strength to oppose...

but akoiji might be strong physically because he is an admiral
