Thread: Pirates of the Carribean vs One Piece

they just seem really simliar, especially with the new trailer. They have merman and pirates....and the whole friendship deal. It seems like the creator of PotC was a one piece fan.

anyone else agree??? it would be great if they paid some sort of homage to onepiece in the movie.

for merman maybe, but for pirates.... (it's not pirates of the carribean for nothing :P )

and the friendship theme is very common.. Oda didn't invent it
anyway, we will see if there is some sort of hommage if one of the crewmember sucks lollypops all day long (if the author of this movie watched OP's american version that is )

pirates of the carribean is the best movie ever concieved...blahz...

They are rather far family, like "Sparrow" and a "HAWK".

I'm seriously looking foreward to the new movie, but I won't get my expectations to high before it's- at least- previewed by some critics! Sequels tend to be a bit on the dull side, don't they.

Either way, Luffy could kick some pirate ass on the Black Pearl as well!

Pirates of the Caribbean just takes old fairy tales on the sea. This is the same for One piece. Not really strange to sea mer-people in a fairy tale pirate setting.
