What about the ice sheets, Mercan cant swim in ice lol

Besides they would need a boat for supplies, weapons and other equipment

Merman are simply humans with some characteristics of fish, in the end, they need to eat and have shelther etc

AND THEY WOULD GET TIRED

Not to mention the SeaKings...

Like someone said before, its like saying, Hey we can walk, lets go to Canada, YOU CAN, but the chances are very low and even so, it wouldnt be easy

BUT there is a major reason that prevent any people with incredible powers like aokiji (who can travel freezing the water) or whitebeard cant´get there....and that unknowed reason aplies to mermaid too

There is actually a trail called the Pacific Crest Trail that goes from the Mexican border to Canada and hundreds of people hike it every year (I also know several people who have done it). I plan on hike it in 4 years (if I'm not to lazy to get into better shape, right now I only think I could hold hiking 20 miles a day for 1 month instead of the 3 months that it takes to hike it). So quite a few people enjoy and even pay lots of money to hike from San Diego to Canada.

BAk on the merman thing, The ocean has many unknown stuff. Like the water thingy that gave luffy a ride to sky pie.
