Thread: Why is One Piece so underrated?

here in germany the dub for the anime is more than shit.....

i mean, i love the manga but its the same as in america, its to childish

but you can say that for alll dubs in germany....
i dont know but all those producers here may think its drawn so its for children

and the best because of that they cut some fight scene out

well maybe in ten years or so i can watch animes with good dubs here in germany

One piece IS childish, if you think about it. Pirates that save the day, no one getting killed, those wacky devil fruit powers

The 4kids version wasn't childish, just overbearingly stupid. They cut out all the blood! You expect even kids to believe that you don't bleed when cut? FOr gods sakes, they even show blood on ARTHUR

I've never thought of One Piece as childish!!! NEVER!! There was way too many adult theme in it. First off, none of the main characters are kids. Second, they all are muture in their own way, even Luffy. Third, One Piece is just crazy and that crazyness is getting confused as sillyness A.K.A childish.

OP underrated?, not in japan I guess, well certainly not in jakarta, where I live.

the dub here suck too, not as bad as 4kids did (hearing u guys, I thanks God never seen one of those 4kids doing, eventhough I bit curious), at least in here they let Sanji smoking real smoke, not lollypop likes an idiot!

now a bit of topic, does anybody know which is top 5 manga 4 now in japan or US?, I mean if they have a list or rating or something? ( I think that would be Naruto, OP, bleach, Gantz, and...?)

does Inuyasha stiil hot in japan?, and how bout Gantz in US?,

and OP's plot is so awesome !! it's no childish at all ^^
.. but still, it is great for the kids too, even if they won't understand everything

@edo : i'd like to know the ratings too ^^
but for japan, i think the 2 preferred characters off all mangas are sanji and zoro (1 year ago) => OP must be well rated

One Piece is very popular in Japan like how Dragonball was popular in the 80s and 90s.

Yes they did. And also they cut out a filler arc, but that arc was intended for kids too. So why cut it out?

I think OnePiece is way better than Naruto and Bleach, although I was slightly put off at first with the drawings

One Piece is no where on that list (probably not until the 30's), but then again, it has an erratic release schedule since we have to wait for the SJ issues to be out first.

I'm lovin' how DBZ is still hanging in there. Flash fact: This was the first time Viz dominated the top ten GN list.

Oh, and the manga version of Gantz hasn't hit our shores yet, but the anime's up to Vol. 7 or 8.
