Define filler...
Anime uses it NOT to catch up with the story.
yep.. there are no fillers in manga....Originally Posted by JC123

I find instead of making new usless fillers they should concentrate more on making the Anime better. You know more movements and not only people standing around and moving once every 30 second
That's the 'limited animation' (or el Cheapo as it deserves to be called) style pioneered long back by Hanna Barbera animations, and followed by most TV cartoons (and anime) ever since. With the limited time and budgets for TV content, that's pretty much all you are gonna get.Originally Posted by jwhiskey
As for the OP manga, generally the story is very tightly plotted, instead of filler, at times there is almost too much stuff happening.
well how about they only send it on weekends? woulden't that give lots of time
Remember the 1 or 2 chapters (really early) with the afro-guy stuck in the treasure chest? I didnt think that added much to the story. I thought it was entertaining, maybe not totally necessary. It was really short though...![]()

Are you talking about the manga, cuz there are no fillers in manga :-/ Anyways, why won't they release them on weekends for more time? The answer is simple: It won't give more time. A mangaka is working 24/7. I remeber one mangaka saying (I think it was Kubo) that he only gets 2-3 free hours a day. He's working all the other time. When the releases come out on Thursaday(or w/e day it is) he'll be working on the next release on the weekend. So, it doesn't matter if it comes out on Monday, he still has only 6 days to draw a chapter. This goes the same for the anime if you were talking about that.Originally Posted by jwhiskey

no he means fillers as in when the mangaka was up too late drinking tequilla shots and suddenly realizes the deadline's tommorow and makes up something that isn't really integral to the story but amusing nonetheless, I blame alcohol
Mysterious, no?
