okay, we all know that this is going to be at least in the last three sagas(most likely) I think (based on what the train lady said at the end of 388) that after this saga the next saga will be the last saga or will focus mainly on leading into the last saga because how much more of the grandline can there really be? tell me if you agree or not and why?
I disagree with you, although current evidence goes against me. Oda has much to resolve although I think he's said he wants to finish in another 300 chapters. At his current rate it's taking about 100 chapters for each "arc" or "saga". Technically I guess you're right. But who knows what the future holds.Quote:

And for your last point, One Piece could go on after they leave the Grand Line. We don't know what One Piece is, and even if somone becomes the Pirate King that doesn't mean it could end. We have three other oceans and the Red Line we haven't even seen yet.
True though I kinda got the impression that the red line was an almost unbroken line of land/mountains going round the world can't remember why. I also don't think we'll see much outside the Grand Line due to the fact that it is the key point for the world government and everyone else who wants to make it big, or seek adventure in the four oceans but only Oda knows for sure. Did you ever read any of his oneshots one of the scanlation groups did? They show a fair bit of his future promise.
None will ever know when One Piece will end for good. It looks, to me, that it's only halfway. There's probably only 3-4 major arcs left in the series, though. (consdiering that a major arc would be like Baroque from when they meet Laboon to the defeat of Crocodiel) But, Oda could do a sequel series of like the adventures of Luffy after he becomes the Pirate King(you know it's going to happen).

I can definately see a spin-off/prequel series though involving a marine version of a luffy-like character and his adventures leading up to the capture of Gold Roger, the "one piece" of marines.
I can imaging that the story is about halfway through, just with how things are going. After all, there are still a number of things, as people have mentioned, that are as of yet unresolved. We have yet to see how Luffy and co. will deal with the rest of the Shichibukai (sp?), and there's potential for the Baster Call to be used, which could lead to a whole new ordeal for the Straw Hat Pirates. As well, we have yet to find out about the Pirate's Summit, as well as what will happen with Blackbeard, and the correspondence going on between Shanks and Whitebeard. I've probably missed some things, but you get the picture.
I can see it lasting at least another 300 chapters or so, unless Oda decides to condense things, or make use of the ever-popular deus ex machina to resolve plot lines or plot holes
One or two things could be condensed into one arc but we'll need to wait and see.
this isnt near the end, there is still way to much for luffy and crew to do. i hear that there will be around 700 chapters in the end
you guys make a lot of really strong points and even have me re-thinking my opinion on it. I usually group sags as Islands because most of the time all the major issues of any saga are resolved within that island, sometimes though I will group them based on Luffy's objective at the time, like I seperate water 7 and Enies lobby because in water 7 Luffy focused mainly on getting a new ship and getting a ship repairman, but Enies lobby is all about getting Robin back and those objectives haven't been mentioned for like 20-30 chapters(I think). Also where did you find out that Oda said it would have like 300 more chapters?
