Thread: Going Back, Unresolved Plot Lines

Up until volume 25 the series was fairly fast paced and many plot elements and characters were introduced. All of the "arcs" only lasted a couple of volumes and even the big arc against Baroque Works was divided into different chunks until arriving at Arabasta. However from then on the major arcs, Skypier and Water 7, became more drawn out and Oda has not touched much at all on all the action that was going on previous.

I'm not really upset about it really, but just super anxious. I have enjoyed the last 200 chapters and they retain the same charm and storytelling style that Oda has kept up all along. It just seems a shame to have left all that was building up to that point.

In terms of the timeline I can see it justified. From chapter 188 (volume 26) till 388 (present) I think only a couple weeks have passed, if not less somehow. I think all of Skypier was only a couple of days, maybe a week. Davy Back Fight I think was only a single day and Water 7 till now has also only been a couple days of time. Of course Oda could adjust the sailing time and whatever any way he wants.

I'm really hoping after this current arc is resolved we get to go back to the other dramas going on around the Grand Line.

The meeting between Shanks and White Beard.
Shichibukai replacement.
What Black Beard is doing.

Long Term Issues
The friggin' meaning of "D" and how all the characters are related.
Who Dragon is and what are his goals.

Past and whereabouts of Nico Robin and Ohara incident
Something more specific about True History and ancient weapons
I hope both of them will be at least partialy answered in current arc]

Doflamingo
He seems to be Crocodile type badass overlord(just more succesfull),there were few little comments about him "liberating" islands,and also with his ramblings about "new age" it seems to me that he is preparing some kind of revoultion(possible connection to Dragon,he is also revolution guy...)

Smoker and Hina
Both of them are somewhere on grandline hunting Luffy,I think they will freak out after Luffys siege of Enies Lobby Plus still that strange Tashigi/Zorro relationship

Good ones. Yeah, I avoided listing too many characters because there are many I'd like to go back to, but there are more relevant ones that are "active" plot wise.

I believe we'll find out about Robin and Ohara very soon. At least we should, dangit. I think the "True History" is something that will be tied into the ending of One Piece, and thus not surface for quite a while hopefully.

I think you're right about Doflamingo, and if you're curious about Dragon here's what I translated from One Piece Blue about him:

DRAGON
[Revolutionary to Overthrow the World Government]
A revolutionary who's been working to reform the world for over ten years. He is marked by the World Government as someone to keep on eye on. He suddenly appeared at Logue Town and saved Luffy from Smoker but his reasons were not explained. He's a person full of mystery.

Actually, after translating that I think we can deduce officially that Dragon is the one who created the winds/storm that ultimately helped the Straw-Hats. I know many already think that but I've seen it contested in the past.

I too wonder what Smoker and Hina are doing. Last we saw of them, Smoker told navy HQ to "eat shit". I think Smoker is getting fed up with the way the navy/world government does things and may go rogue in order to dispense justice his own way. From the standpoint of a writer, his powers would be difficult to defeat and so I think he's going to be helping Luffy in the future rather than fighting.

Hina I'm not too concerned with. Although I too am curious about Tashigi, but isn't the general concensus is that she just looks strikingly like Kuina and isn't her?

Amnesia, clone, reincarnation, genetic engineering, she didn´t really die, fake body, ultimate hypnosia, fake puppet body?

Well I can think of lamer. I'm pretty resolved that it's just a huge coincidence. The twin thing doesn't seem complicated enough for Oda's taste

I just assumed they just looked similar and the tashigi/kuina connection would go unresolved. Probly jsut because i dont give a fu<k about either of them...

I gotta second the original poster, what the hell happened to all these plot-lines Oda was working on? Theres about 50 things we're waiting on. I love OP but its getting almost too hectic. Oda gotta start tieing up some of these loose ends after this arc.

what about Eneru after he left Skypier on that golden flying ship of his ? or Ace and Buggy's party ?

I just left it that Ener went insane from having been defeated. Being a complete narcissist and believing he was invincible and then getting his ass whooped would do that. Now that he's crazy he won't pose a threat, hopefully.

Buggy and Alvida are another set of characters I also think about, but they don't have any major issues regarding them right now. It would be funny to see them more often, and even at some point cause a major conflict.

Ace I'm hoping will finally catch up to Black Beard and either defeat them or get defeated mysteriously and have Black Beard with this strange power/strength.
