i don't think the tashigi issue will be resolved at all, NOR DO I THINK THE LABOON ONE WILL. I think that a lot of the next arc will focus on resolving all those issues because think about it in 388 the old lady even said that he would become known throughout the world. This could lead to:
Shanks locating him and doing something, Buggy and Alvida locating him, Him becoming a candidate for the next pirate god(if it hasn't already been dicided which it may have been), blackbeard appearing again, his actions distracting the navy from what shanks and whitebeard are doing, or any of many other things. Also there is another unresolved issue that noone ever mentioned: Who are the other two Supremem admirals of the navy(the position that Ao Kiji holds) and what are they going to do if luffy becomes extremely powerful?

Maybe some of these unresolved plot lines will stay that way. We still don't know who killed Batman's parents 60 years after the fact. Doesn't make the character or the comics any less interesting.

It tells you the names of all three of the Supreme Admirals are in chapter 319 page 4. They are:
    "Akainu," the Red Dog
    "Aokiji," the Blue Pheasant
    "Kizeru," the Yellow Monkey
I'd assume that they'd try to stop him if he became powerful, obviously

I hate to be a stickler, but that should be Kizaru, saru being the word for "monkey". I noticed sometimes the scanlations get things wrong, usually looks like an unedited typo. Sorry, but I am a Japanese major

I guess you guys are just getting a bit impatient with the speed of this arc flows... What I think is Oda's gonna talk bout the whole government thing after this Water Seven arch since they leave such a huge mess in Enis Lobbies... with every single government unit hunting for them... I think he will talk more about the Shichibukai and White Beard meeting Shanks stuff... C'mon guys, we're in the middle of the arc and we can't suddenly fly back in time to give you guys some explaination right~? Just watch how the story goes.

I'm not being impatient. I originally made the observation that volumes 1-25 had a different distinct pace than from volumes 26 on. However I've always enjoyed every issue of One Piece. And I think discussing past mysteries is no different than discussing future speculation.

Well, those volumes were all about the formation of the Strawhat Crew and the establishment of their powers. Plus, the journey into the Grand Line (and Skypiea) need a difference in pace from the original arcs. It's like how DB went to DBZ, and DBZ turned into more of an action-based series after the Frieza Saga. We've gotten an idea of what the main characters can do, now each story has to build up the threat levels in order to match thier increasing power level. Plus, the payoff to each arc is usually worth the effort and time.

As much as I hated the length of Skypiea, the ending was so worth it (the silouette scene at the end especially).

I don't claim to know any Japanese whatsoever, I was just quoting exactly what the Null translation said.

That's one way to look at it, but what about Robin? I don't think anybody is done developing. And I hope, really, that One Piece doesn't become like Dragonball.

(the Dragonball manga never became "Z", that was the studio's doing) But I get what you mean and when the turn came in Dragonball. It's interesting you make that point too, since that's when Toriyama really wanted to end Dragonball, after Freezer. I have no evidence on hand, but I remember Toriyama saying while he's proud of Dragonball, it wasn't his personal favorite.

Anyway, my pseudo-DB bashing aside, I have a different take on the differing length of the "arcs". To me Oda has proven a master story teller and his forthought extends each time. In 100 chapter stories, he manages to bring something back that seemed not all that important in the end to have a significant impact. I believe he's not really intentionally making the stories longer, but he's developing them more richly. If you look, the speech content has never slowed down and each chapter has had some minor revelation. So I guess the style of One Piece never changed, Oda has just got better at it. Which in a (mostly) weekly comic format drives us fans (at least me) nuts and craving for more.

With that I have another theory. If you look at Skypier and Water 7, each had a multi-issue flashblack and has given significant "screen-time" to the new characters and major players (non-Straw Hat) for that arc. Oda has been doing One Piece since 1997 and perhaps he's had the itch to do other stories and this is his way of expressing that.

I know I didn't say it was your doing, I said the scanlations made the mistakes. No worries mate!
