what kind of powers do you think gol D roger had? they said he kicked everybody's ass, he's gotta have had some devil fruit power...

Zorro can kick pretty much everyones arse but he doesn't have a devil fruit. This is bloody stupid just to asume in One piece that if a character is strong they must use a devil fruit. Devil fruit does not equa; strong, There are characters that have them and are still piss weak and theres characters who don't have them who are bloody strong. I dooubt that Oda will have Gol, Shanks or White with devil powers at it will make One Peice a much better read to have normal people that are insanly strong without the help of devil fruits.

This would cheapen Mihawk in my opinion which would in turn make Zorro look worse. Zorro beating Mr. 1 because he could never be cut and thus didn't rely too much on skill and just used his power was cool. Having the number one swordsman powerfull because he ate the right peice of fruit isn't very interesting when compared to the the idea that he trained on a level even above that or Zorro to get strong.

Hes trying to instigate is that Luffy and his "grandfather" have the same devil power. But as it's one power and no more for each fruit IF and thats a big if Gol had a power it wouldn't be gomu gomu. Besides I like the idea that he was like Zorro or Sanji and became a monster without a devil fruit.

At the moment there are quite a few people who have devil fruit powers who are insanly strong, what I want to see more of is characters who don't have powers who can beat luffy. Tho in this latest arc I like the cp9 guys as the devil powers at the moment are more like an ace then their actuall power.
