Anime vs Manga

Well there are quite side stories in anime compared to manga...
But there was something I found astray from main story from manga in anime...
Pelle(the falcon guardian of kingdom of arbasta) clearly died in manga but in anime they showed him visting his grave... Doe anyone have any clue to this adaptation??

Pell didn't die in the manga ever...
there is already something about pell out there.. ^^

Now I am really getting confused here.... where in manga did they show Pelle returning and visiting his own grave...

we didn't see him return to his grave (it was another guy), but he is definitely alive

In One Piece everyone thought Pell had died, wouldn't you if you saw the guy carry the bomb and the next instance it went boom?

IIRC
In the anime Pell manages to get to the grave and scoffs at it.
While in the manga it ends with Pell walking outta the doc's room and the doc mentioning something about taking it easy and forgetting his bandana (see pells shadow walking off into the desert)
